The DPF engineer arrives: what happens next

The scan comes before anything is cleaned.

A turbo, injector, glow plug or sensor problem frequently sits alongside a blocked filter, and it has to be ruled out first. A DPF warning light on its own says nothing about where the fault lies.

Before any work starts, you are warned if one of those is the cause.

  • diagnostics first — a complete scan plus a live ECU read, showing what the fault is and how full the filter is
  • a pressurised chemical clean, injected through the easiest access point on that vehicle
  • a burn-off of what the clean loosened, run on a regeneration cycle
  • a second scan, the warning lights cleared, and where possible a brief road test
  • reports from before and after the clean, emailed to you

Heavily blocked filters occasionally need a second clean, handled on the same visit.

A 30-day warranty covers aftercare on every clean. Should the light come back inside it, a DPF engineer returns.
