Mobile DPF Cleaning in Wheatley Lane, Lancashire
With on-site DPF cleaning, we travel to the car. No body shop, no filter going anywhere. An engineer comes to your place over in Wheatley Lane, clears the diesel particulate filter in place, performs a DPF regeneration, and you hold on to the filter you started with.
The visit lasts typically around 2 hours, the clean starts from £299, and the figure is settled by the phone before anyone travels.
The light is already on and the vehicle is low on power — that is how we generally come across people, and roughly what this page covers.
Your DPF light is on — what next?
Not the unit, always. First thing to say. Treatment is not where a visit starts. A check is — a number of faults register as the same light.
Second thing: how you drive it between now and then makes a difference.
- A long even run may even now do it, provided the light is amber and the vehicle runs as normal. Costs nothing at all, so try that before calling.
- That window has shut once the motor has fallen into limp mode. Motoring will not get there now.
- Get it looked at rather than running it — diesel in the interior, or smoke on the throttle, has gone beyond the long-run stage.
The motor has been telling you already
The light is last news. By the time it appears, the symptoms have generally been mounting for a while:
- climbing uphill, the power falls off
- the revs no longer pull the way they once did
- worse fuel economy
- a stop/start that has meekly bowed out
- a diesel smell in the cabin, or smoke under hard acceleration
On its own, none of that is evidence. With the light alongside them, the filter is a fair bet.
Why diesel particulate filters block round Wheatley Lane
Wheatley Lane is a rural village, and the day-to-day driving that comes with one is the least kind kind for a DPF. A regeneration takes long enough and heat, and gets not much: not on the school run to Wheatley Lane Methodist Primary School, not on Wheatley Lane Road at half past eight, not on five minutes to Morrisons, and not on the hop to Brierfield. Soot that should clear banks up instead.
Geography does not assist either. The M65 is under a mile from Wheatley Lane and Preston is under 25 miles away, so unless something carries you out that way often, whole weeks slip past without the sustained run that could empty the filter by itself.
Why limp mode blocks a DPF regeneration
Limp mode is the motor looking after itself. The real catch is that a proper drive works by setting off a regeneration, and under limp mode the revs will not pull and power is capped.
So the common advice to get it up the motorway is sound advice, up until it stops being. The filter requires treatment rather than road work once the car has slipped into limp mode.
The motor stays where it is for on-site DPF cleaning round Wheatley Lane
Nothing is taken from the vehicle. That surprises people. The DPF sits bolted where it is and the work happens around it, on a driveway, in a works car park, wherever it can stand for two hours or so.
Nothing is started until other faults are eliminated. That involves a scan first: live data off the ECU, soot load by percentage and by actual weight, and a review of the sensors, glow plugs and associated hardware.
A cleaning solution next goes in through the access point on that vehicle, expanding inside the filter to free soot and ash a regeneration alone will never budge. Where the filter is severely blocked, plan on a second pass.
A regeneration comes next, clearing what the clean has lifted. Stay with the car and it becomes a monitored drive out of Wheatley Lane. Drop it and the regeneration goes in place, with live data read once it is done.
Both sets of figures come through by email, so the figures from either end are on record. The second check is what verifies the change, puts out the light and logs whatever is still outstanding.
Where treatment is not the solution
One thing is what a clean cures — a filter choked with soot and ash. It does nothing for:
- the wrong figure from a pressure or temperature sensor
- an EGR valve stuck open
- the AdBlue system going wrong
- faulty glow plugs or injectors, so no regeneration ever completes
- turbo problems, with oil entering the filter
Finding that out is the first check's job. Proving to be one of them means hearing it before the work begins, not after settling up anything.
Lastly, two things. A vehicle with the filter gutted cannot pass its MOT, and driving it is illegal, so that is no fix. What gets typed in as DPF renewal replaces nothing: your filter is cleared in place and goes back into work.
Figures for DPF cleaning across Wheatley Lane
Cleaning starts from £299, with the call-out charge on top of that for every visit — it takes in the call-out, the booking, the checks and the advice.
Naming a flat rate would not be honest. We fix it by phone, once the motor and its likely needs are clear. The motor shifts it, and so does the postcode — Wheatley Lane, Spen Brook, or a spot otherwise out in the BB postcode area.
If the diagnostic counts treatment out, there is nothing to pay for it. You still pay that charge: someone turned up, carried out the diagnostic and offered you the advice.
If the light reappears inside that period, an engineer travels back out to Wheatley Lane — the job comes with a 30-day warranty taking in aftercare.

Outstanding customer service provided by Liam. The communication was exceptional, and I was consistently updated on all aspects, including the estimated time of arrival (ETA). Liam successfully resolved the PDF issue, and I am very satisfied with his work. I would highly recommend his services for PDF-related tasks.
Fantastic experience. Attila came out and cleaned the DPD filter. He explained everything about it. He answered al of our questions. Great service. Thank you.
The vehicles we clean and the patch we take in round Wheatley Lane
Whatever it is — car, panel van, light commercial, lorry, plant, construction machinery, farm vehicle — the same call-out service applies, and the filter never quits it.
Engineers are along Wheatley Lane Road week in week out, so Wheatley Lane is rarely a detour, and the same run picks up Spen Brook, Waterside and the villages out past Fence. Farther out around Lancashire is nonetheless worth a call — coverage is UK-wide, and it is the calendar rather than the distance that decides between one day and the next.

Things Wheatley Lane drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Can I just take it for a long drive?
- It may, provided you get it in time and limp mode has not begun. Ten minutes to Morrisons and back will not be enough; motorway speed, held for some time, will.
- How long does the visit run?
- Allow typically around 2 hours — heavily blocked filters sometimes take a second pass, which lengthens it.
- What does it come to around Wheatley Lane?
- It begins from £299, plus the call-out charge covering the visit, the check and the advice. Quoting is done by phone, since what you drive and where you sit both shift the price.
- Is it necessary for me to be present?
- Somewhere for the car to sit, for a couple of hours, is all that is required. Not you. Choosing to be there is welcome: the regeneration then runs out on the open road, monitored.
- Can someone travel to Wheatley Lane soon?
- That depends on the calendar, but it is often same-day or next-day. Phone 0303 330 1830 and you will hear what is available across the BB area.
- The filter — does it leave the vehicle?
- Not on the on-site service — it is cleaned where it is. Taking a filter off or bolting one back on amount to anything work we do whichever way.
- Suppose the light reappears?
- Aftercare comes inside the 30-day warranty, and that includes an engineer heading back to Wheatley Lane.
