Mobile DPF Cleaning in West End and Oxfordshire
With call-out DPF cleaning, we drive out to the car. The fitter pulls up at your door over in West End and starts. The diesel particulate filter is cleaned on the motor, a DPF regeneration comes next, and you end up with the filter you came with.
The visit runs typically around 2 hours, the clean begins from £299, and the figure is fixed on the phone before anyone leaves.
The light is on already and the motor is low on power — that is how we generally find people, and precisely what this page deals with.
DPF light on? What comes next
It could not be the filter at all. That is the first thing. Cleaning is not where a visit starts. A scan is — plenty of faults show up as the same light.
Second thing: how you drive it between now and then matters.
- A long steady run may still manage it, provided the light is amber and the vehicle runs fine. Costs zero, so try that before calling.
- Motor already gone into limp mode — that window has shut. A drive will not shift it now.
- A diesel smell in the car, or black smoke under acceleration, is the point to stop planning long drives and call.
Signs the motor has been showing you
By the time the light appears, things have usually been deteriorating for weeks. It is last news:
- less power, particularly going uphill
- the revs no longer pull the way they always did
- the fuel economy is poorer
- the stop/start quietly packing in
- a diesel smell in the cabin, or smoke under the throttle
None of that is proof on its own. Next to the light, it is a fair assumption the filter is full.
Why diesel particulate filters block near West End
West End is a rural hamlet, and the motoring that goes with one is the worst kind for a DPF. Look at a typical week: Stanton Harcourt CofE Primary School and back, West End at a standstill before half nine, a short hop to The Co-operative Food, a run to Oxford. Nothing there lasts long enough or runs hot enough to complete a regeneration. The soot collects rather than clearing.
The Wheatley Spur stands under 15 miles from West End, Oxford under 10 miles away, and unless something pulls you out that way often, entire weeks pass without the long steady run that clears a filter. Geography does not assist.
Why limp mode prevents a DPF regeneration
Limp mode is the motor defending itself. A long drive works by triggering a regeneration, and that is just what limp mode rules out: power held down, revs pinned, no regeneration possible.
Sound advice, that motorway run — until the point it is not. Beyond that point — limp mode — road work will not manage it, and the filter wants cleaning.
DPF cleaning at the vehicle round West End
On your drive, in a work car park, anywhere the car can wait for a while: the job takes place with the filter still fitted on, which is the part most drivers do not see coming.
First a check. Live ECU data, the soot load as a proportion and as a mass, the sensors, the glow plugs, the related components — all of it read before a thing is cleaned.
Then comes the clean itself: cleaning fluid in through the motor's own access point, opening out inside the filter and loosening what a regeneration cannot. Heavily blocked filters sometimes take a second pass.
Next, a regeneration clears everything the clean lifted. Either it is done as a monitored drive out of West End, with you along, or it goes where the car sits and the real-time data is checked once done.
A second check confirms the change, resets the warning light and lists anything still outstanding. Both reports are emailed over, so you have the before and after figures to hand.
What a DPF clean will not fix
Only one fault is cured by a clean: the filter clogged with ash and soot. It does nothing for:
- the wrong signal from a temperature sensor
- a failed EGR valve
- the AdBlue system playing up
- injectors or glow plugs that stop a regeneration completing at all
- turbo problems, with oil entering the filter
The first diagnostic is there for exactly that. If it turns out to be one of those, you are told before any work gets going rather than after you have handed over for it.
Two more worth knowing. Getting the filter gutted is not a fix — a vehicle without a working DPF fails its MOT and driving it is illegal. And cleaning is sometimes described as DPF renewal: nothing is replaced, your original filter is cleaned in place and sent back into use.
Prices for DPF cleaning across West End
The treatment opens from £299. A call-out charge covers every visit, and takes in the call-out itself, the booking, the diagnostic and the advice that comes with it.
Naming a flat rate would not be honest. We settle it by phone, once the car and its likely needs are known. The car moves it, and so does the postcode — West End, Blackditch, or anywhere further out in the OX postcode area.
If the diagnostic writes a clean out, there is no charge to pay for it. The call-out charge still applies, because the visit, the diagnostic and the advice have been done.
The work includes a 30-day warranty including aftercare, including an engineer heading back out to West End if the light returns inside that period.
Liam was great very professional and understanding, put me at my ease and totally trustworthy. Great service and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend DPF FIXER to friends and family.
Liam came to the House next day, incredibly helpful bloke, talked me through everything and how to stop the DPF blocking up in the future. Well worth the money, saved me loads of problems, highly recommend these guys.
Dave was great and really knowledgeable, was polite enough to call me letting me know his arrival time. He cleaned my dpf in about an hour and even gave me some advice on further maintenance on my BMW. Thanks Dave.
Where we get to near West End, and what we clean
The filter is done in place on all of them: private cars, vans of any size and light commercials, HGVs and lorries, construction and plant machinery, agricultural vehicles. Nothing is taken anywhere.
Nearly every week there is usually someone on West End, so West End hardly ever means a detour, and Blackditch, Sutton and the villages past Northmoor come with it. Farther out across Oxfordshire is still worth ringing about — coverage runs UK-wide, and it is the calendar rather than the distance that picks between today and tomorrow.

Common questions on DPF cleaning around West End
- Can I just take it for a long drive?
- Soon enough, and with the motor out of limp mode, yes — sometimes. Fifteen minutes to The Co-operative Food and back will not be enough; motorway speed, held for some time, will.
- The visit runs how long?
- Bank on typically around 2 hours, with a second clean extending that where the filter is severely clogged.
- Around West End, what does it run to?
- Opening from £299, with a charge for travelling that pays for the scan and advice on what to do next. Settling it is done by phone, since what you run and where you sit both change the price.
- Have I got to be around?
- A spot for the motor to wait, for a couple of hours, is all that is required. Not you. Choosing to be there is fine: the regeneration then is done out on the move, monitored.
- How soon can someone get to West End?
- It is often same-day or next-day, depending on what is already in the schedule. Ring 0303 330 1830 what is free across the OX area.
- Is the filter taken off the motor?
- Not on the call-out service — it is cleaned where it sits. Nor does taking a filter off nor putting one back on is work we do.
- What if the light comes back?
- An engineer travels back out to West End — the 30-day warranty includes aftercare.
