The engineer arrives: what happens next

Before anything is cleaned, the scan comes first.

A DPF warning light is not proof that the filter is the fault, and a blocked filter often sits alongside a sensor, glow plug, injector or turbo problem that has to be excluded first.

You are told before any work starts, if that is the cause.

  • diagnostics first — a full scan plus a live ECU read, showing what the fault is and how full the filter is
  • injection at whichever access point suits that vehicle, with a high-pressure chemical clean
  • a regeneration cycle to burn off what the clean has loosened
  • a second scan, warning lights reset, and a quick road test where feasible
  • pre- and post-clean reports emailed to you afterwards

On the same visit, a heavily blocked filter that needs a second clean receives one.

There is a charge for the call-out on every visit.

A visit is a visit and a diagnosis is a diagnosis, even where the fault proves to be something other than the filter. That is why the charge applies whether or not cleaning proceeds, and what the call-out, booking, diagnostic and advice are paid for.

Every clean carries a 30-day warranty covering aftercare, including a DPF engineer coming back if the warning light returns inside that period.
