Stonor, Oxfordshire: Mobile DPF Cleaning
On-site DPF cleaning goes to the motor. An engineer comes at your door in Stonor, treats the diesel particulate filter while it is fitted to the car, performs a DPF regeneration, and you keep the filter you arrived with.
Nobody sets off until the number is settled on the phone. The visit runs typically around 2 hours and the clean begins from £299.
Most people find us with the light showing, and the vehicle down on power. That is the position this page is meant for.
The DPF light is on. What then?
Not the filter, automatically. Opening thing to note. Treatment is not where a visit starts. A diagnostic is — a number of faults register as the same warning.
It matters what you do with the vehicle between now and the visit.
- Motor still driving as normal on an amber light — attempt a long steady run first. It costs zero and regularly sorts the filter without help.
- That window has closed once the motor has dropped into limp mode. Driving will not help now.
- A diesel smell in there, or black smoke under hard acceleration, is the moment to stop planning long drives and book it in.
The motor has been showing you already
The light is belated news. By the time it appears, the symptoms have generally been mounting for a while:
- power dropping away, above all going uphill
- you find the revs stop short of where they used to go
- consumption that is worse than it used to be
- silently, the stop/start gives up
- diesel in the cabin, or smoke on the way up through the gearbox
Any one of those, taken by itself, is not conclusive. Alongside the light, it is a fair guess the filter is loaded.
The reason diesel particulate filters block near Stonor
Being a rural village, Stonor produces precisely the driving a DPF copes with least well. A regeneration wants the time and heat, and gets not much: not on the school run to Nettlebed Community School, not on B480 at the morning rush, not on a few minutes to Waitrose, and not on the hop to Henley-On-Thames. Soot that should burn away banks up instead.
Neither is far from Stonor: under 5 miles to the M40, under 25 miles to Oxford. Neither is on the way to anything most weeks, though, so the journey that would empty a filter never happens.
Limp mode, and when DPF regeneration stops working
What limp mode means is the vehicle defending itself. A sustained drive works by starting a regeneration, and that is exactly what limp mode prevents: power held down, revs held down, no regeneration on offer.
Taking it up the motorway is the standard advice, and it holds right up to a limit. The filter needs a clean rather than driving once the car has gone into limp mode.
Mobile DPF cleaning where the vehicle stands across Stonor
Nothing is taken from the car. That throws people. The DPF sits fitted where it is and the work happens around it, on a driveway, in a works car park, wherever it can stand for two hours or so.
A diagnostic happens first — running data off the ECU, soot load by percent and by actual weight, and a review of the sensor feeds, glow plugs and related hardware, so other faults are ruled out before any of it is cleaned.
Then the clean. A cleaning fluid is injected through the entry point on that vehicle and opens out inside the filter, lifting the soot and ash a regeneration on its own will never shift. A second pass is sometimes called for on heavily clogged filters.
What the clean has freed is then burned off by a regeneration. Stay with the vehicle and it becomes a monitored drive out of Stonor. Leave it and the regeneration goes statically, with running data verified once it is done.
Both reports come through by email, so the figures from either end are on record. The second scan is what confirms the change, puts out the light and notes whatever is still open.
When a DPF clean is not the fix
A filter choked with soot and ash is the one thing cleaning fixes. It will not touch:
- a temperature or pressure sensor reporting a restriction that is not there
- an EGR valve held open
- AdBlue system failures
- glow plugs or injectors blocking the regeneration completing whatsoever
- oil coming through the filter from a failing turbo
Which is why the scan happens first. If it proves to be one of those, you are let know before any work begins rather than after you have paid for it.
DPF renewal is what people look up, but no part is exchanged: the filter you have is treated where it sits and sent back into service. Nor is having it hollowed out a solution, since the MOT then fails and driving becomes illegal. Two more things worth noting.
DPF cleaning prices around Stonor
Treatment opens from £299, with the call-out charge on top of that for every visit — it takes in the call-out, the booking, the diagnostics and the advice.
Publishing a flat rate would not be honest. We fix it on the phone, once the vehicle and its likely needs are known. The car changes it, and so does the postcode — Stonor, Maidensgrove, or a spot farther out in the RG postcode area.
Where the diagnostic says a clean will not work, you are not billed for treatment. You even so pay that charge: someone turned up, ran the scan and passed on you the advice.
Aftercare is included by a 30-day warranty: should the light return within it, an engineer heads back to Stonor.
What fantastic service! Lady I spoke to in the office was friendly and very helpful and the technician (Zultan) who came out to look at my car couldn't be faulted. Friendly, helpful & professional - my problem resolved. Thank you.
Diaz did a very great job. He gave a detail explanation on what to do after his work and in fact the car is back on its normal performance. Thank you mate.
such an amazing company! reliable service! all done very professional. Engineer didn't just cleaned DPF but also checked other errors, leaving me confident, that my car is properly sorted. I am a very happy customer and will always recommend them!
Vehicles we clean, and where we get to around Stonor
Whatever it is — car, light van, light commercial, heavy goods vehicle, plant, construction machinery, farm vehicle — the same call-out service holds, and the filter never leaves it.
Our engineers are along B480 most weeks, so Stonor is hardly ever a special trip, and the same run covers Maidensgrove, Summer Heath and the places out past Russells Water. Coverage is UK-wide, so farther out around Oxfordshire is still worth a call, and what decides between today and tomorrow is the schedule rather than the distance.

What Stonor drivers want to know about DPF cleaning
- Is a long drive enough by itself?
- Sometimes, if you spot it early enough and the motor has not fallen into limp mode. That calls for motorway speed for a steady run, rather than a short trip to Waitrose.
- Does the visit last long?
- Expect typically around 2 hours — heavily blocked filters sometimes require a second pass, which extends it.
- What does it cost around Stonor?
- It opens from £299, plus the call-out charge covering the visit, the diagnostic and the advice. The vehicle and your address both move the figure, so we price on the phone.
- Have I need to be present?
- A spot for the vehicle to wait, for a couple of hours, is all that is wanted. Not you. The regeneration can be run as a supervised drive if you would rather be there.
- Can someone get to Stonor soon?
- It is often same-day or next-day, depending on what is currently in the diary. Phone 0303 330 1830 and you will know what is free across the RG area.
- Will the filter be removed?
- It is cleaned where it sits, on the call-out service. Getting a filter off or fitting one back on amount to anything a job we do whichever way.
- Suppose the light comes back?
- An engineer comes back out to Stonor — the 30-day warranty covers aftercare.
