Symptoms have generally been mounting for a while before the light ever shows. Late news, in other words:
- less power, above all climbing uphill
- the revs no longer climb the way they always did
- worse fuel consumption
- without a word, the stop/start bows out
- diesel in the cabin, or smoke on the way up through the gears
Any one of those, taken alone, is not proof. The light alongside them indicates a loaded filter.
The reason diesel particulate filters block round Sandycroft
