Mobile DPF Cleaning across Prospect Village and Staffordshire
On-site DPF cleaning goes to the car. The technician arrives at your door over in Prospect Village and sets up. The diesel particulate filter is cleaned on the car, a DPF regeneration comes next, and you end up with the filter you arrived with.
You'll be given a figure by phone before anyone departs, the clean starting from £299, and the visit taking typically around 2 hours.
If the light is already on and the car is short of power, this page is for you. That is how most people arrive here.
DPF light on? What comes next
Not the DPF, always. Opening thing to get straight. A number of faults put the very same light on the identical panel, which is why a visit begins with a check rather than with treatment.
The motoring you get in the meantime counts. That is the second thing.
- Motor still driving as normal on an amber light — have a go at a long constant run first. It costs zero and regularly shifts the filter without help.
- Vehicle already gone into limp mode — that window has shut. A drive will not shift it now.
- Stop arranging long drives and get it seen to if the cabin smells of diesel or there is black smoke when you pull away.
The vehicle has been showing you already
The light is belated news. By the time it shows, the symptoms have usually been mounting for weeks:
- pulling uphill, the power falls off
- revs that will not climb the way they once did
- the fuel consumption is down
- stop/start quietly bowing out
- the cabin smelling of diesel, or smoke when you press on
That is not evidence on its own. The light with them indicates a loaded filter.
Why diesel particulate filters clog round Prospect Village
Prospect Village is a rural village, and the day-to-day driving that goes with one is the least kind type for a DPF. The school run to Holly Grove Primary Academy, Longstaff Avenue at a halt at the morning rush, five minutes to Heron Foods, the run to Hednesford — nothing of it runs long enough or is hot enough for the filter to see through a regeneration. Instead of burning away, the soot builds up.
Save when you have a routine cause to drive out to the M6 Toll, under 3 miles from Prospect Village, or across to Lichfield under 10 miles away, whole weeks pass without a long steady drive. Geography is unhelpful.
Why limp mode blocks a DPF regeneration
It is self-defence: that is all limp mode amounts to. A sustained drive works by starting a regeneration, and that is precisely what limp mode blocks: power limited, revs kept low, no regeneration on offer.
So the common advice to run it up the motorway is sound advice, right until it stops being. The filter requires a clean rather than driving once the vehicle has dropped into limp mode.
The car stays in place for mobile DPF cleaning across Prospect Village
The filter does not leave it. That is the bit most people do not expect: the job takes place with the DPF still bolted to the vehicle, on your front, in a work car park, wherever the motor can sit for a couple of hours.
First a diagnostic. Running ECU data, the soot load as a percent and as a weight, the sensor readings, the glow plugs, the associated components — all of it logged before any of it is cleaned.
Then the clean. A solution is fed in through the access point on that motor and expands inside the filter, freeing the soot and ash a regeneration by itself will never shift. Where the filter is badly loaded, allow for a second pass.
What the clean has loosened is then burned off by a regeneration. If you are there, that is run as a monitored drive out of Prospect Village; if not, statically where the motor sits, with the real-time data verified after.
Both reports come through by email, so the figures from either end are recorded. The second check is what verifies the change, resets the light and lists whatever is still open.
Where treatment is not the fix
One thing is what treatment answers — a filter choked with soot and ash. It does nothing for:
- temperature or pressure sensors showing a restriction that is not there
- the EGR valve stuck open
- the AdBlue system failing
- glow plugs or injectors preventing the regeneration starting at all
- the turbo putting oil into the filter
That is what the first check is for. You are told before any work begins, not after you have paid, if it turns out to be one of those.
Lastly, two things. A vehicle with the filter gutted will fail its MOT, and driving it is against the law, so that is no solution. What gets typed in as DPF renewal swaps nothing: your existing filter is cleaned in place and goes back into use.
The cost of DPF cleaning across Prospect Village
Each visit takes a call-out charge — getting to you, setting up the booking, doing the check and giving the advice. The clean itself opens from £299.
Publishing a flat rate would not be straight. We agree it on the phone, once the motor and its expected needs are established. The motor changes it, and so does the postcode — Prospect Village, Cannock Wood, or anywhere farther out in the WS postcode area.
Cleaning that will not work is not a clean you pay for, and the diagnostic is what says so. You even so pay that charge: someone turned up, carried out the scan and passed on you the advice.
The clean includes a 30-day warranty taking in aftercare, including an engineer coming back out to Prospect Village if the light returns inside that time.
I RANG DPP FIXER THEY CALLED BACK WITHIN. MINUTES ORGANISED FOR THE NEXT DAY AND GUY TURNED UP AT THE APPOINTED TIME CLEANED DPP TOOK 1HR VERY PLEASED WITH SERVICE.
The DPF engineer resolved the Exhaust filter issues with our vehicle. He was very efficient and explained the process and what was happening as well as recommendations on how to avoid future problems. Excellent service.
10/10 experience. I called, got someone out the next day. Nat came and was friendly, efficient and did a great job!
The vehicles we clean and the ground we cover round Prospect Village
The one on-site service spans cars and estates, vans and light commercials, heavy goods vehicles, construction and plant machinery and agricultural machinery, and on every one the filter is done in place rather than carried anywhere.
Week in week out there is usually someone on Longstaff Avenue, so Prospect Village rarely means a detour, and Cannock Wood, Hazelslade and the places past Rawnsley come with it. Call anyway from even further out through Staffordshire. Coverage extends UK-wide, and the slot you are offered depends on the calendar rather than how far away you are.

Things Prospect Village drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Does a long run shift it?
- It may, provided you spot it early enough and limp mode has not arrived. A steady run at motorway speed is what it takes — not ten minutes to Heron Foods and back.
- The visit runs how long?
- Bank on typically around 2 hours, with a second clean extending that where the filter is heavily clogged.
- What does it run to in Prospect Village?
- The call-out charge takes in the visit, the check and the advice; the clean itself opens from £299. The vehicle and your address both change the price, so we price on the phone.
- Do I have to be there?
- Space for the motor to stand, for a couple of hours, is all that is needed. Not you. The regeneration can be done as a watched drive if you would sooner ride along.
- When can someone come to Prospect Village?
- You are offered often same-day or next-day, though it depends what is already in the diary. Ring 0303 330 1830 and you will know what is available across the WS area.
- Is the filter lifted off the motor?
- It is cleaned where it sits, on the on-site service. Nor does lifting a filter off nor bolting one back on is work we do.
- Suppose the light reappears?
- Aftercare falls inside the 30-day warranty, and that includes an engineer coming back to Prospect Village.
