What the engineer does when they get to you

The scan comes before anything is treated.

The light being on does not prove the filter is the fault. A blocked filter commonly sits alongside a sensor, glow plug, injector or turbo problem, and that has to be eliminated first.

Before any work starts, you are told if one of those is the cause.

  • a complete diagnostic scan and live read of the ECU, to establish the fault and see how full the filter is
  • a chemical clean under pressure, put in at the easiest access point that vehicle offers
  • everything the clean loosened, burned off on a regeneration cycle
  • one brief road test where conditions allow, after a second scan and a warning lights reset
  • reports from before and after the clean, emailed to you

On the same visit, a heavily blocked filter that needs a second clean is given one.
