What the vehicle has been warning you
Belated news, the light. The symptoms usually build for some time before it arrives:
- less power, particularly climbing uphill
- revs that will not rise the way they always did
- fuel use that is worse than before
- a stop/start that has quietly packed in
- a diesel smell in the car, or smoke under hard acceleration
Any one of those, taken singly, is not conclusive. The light beside them indicates a blocked filter.
Why diesel particulate filters choke round Penwyllt
