What the DPF engineer does when they get to you

You get the scan before any treatment starts.

A turbo, injector, glow plug or sensor fault frequently sits alongside a blocked filter, and it has to be eliminated first. A DPF warning light on its own proves nothing about where the fault lies.

Before any work starts, you are informed if one of those is the cause.

a thorough diagnostic scan and ECU read taken live, to establish the fault and see how full the filter is
injection at whichever access point suits that vehicle, with a pressure-fed chemical clean
a regeneration cycle to burn off what the clean has loosened
one brief road test where conditions allow, after a second scan and a warning lights reset
an email afterwards with the pre- and post-clean reports

Where the filter is heavily blocked, a second clean is occasionally needed on the same visit.
