Mobile DPF Cleaning in Park and Hampshire
Mobile DPF cleaning travels to the motor. The technician turns up at your door in Park and sets up. The diesel particulate filter is cleaned still on the car, a DPF regeneration follows, and you hold on to the filter you came with.
The visit takes typically around 2 hours, the clean starts from £299, and the figure is settled over the phone before anyone travels.
Most drivers find us with the light showing, and the motor short of power. That is exactly what this page is aimed at.
The DPF light is on. What then?
It might not be the DPF in the end. That is the first thing. Cleaning is not where a visit begins. A check is — a number of faults appear as the same warning.
Second thing: how you handle it between now and then counts.
- A long steady run may yet do it, provided the light is amber and the vehicle runs normally. Costs nothing at all, so try that before calling.
- Once the motor is in limp mode, a long run will not touch it. The window has shut.
- Diesel smell in the cabin, or black smoke under acceleration — stop booking long drives and get it seen to.
Before the light, what the vehicle was showing you
Late news, the light. The symptoms usually build for a while before it arrives:
- climbing uphill, the power tails off
- revs that will not pull the way they once did
- the fuel use is worse
- stop/start quietly packing in
- diesel in the cabin, or smoke on the way up through the gearbox
None of that is proof by itself. Next to the light, it is a fair guess the filter is loaded.
Blocked diesel particulate filters around Park, and the reason
For a DPF, the poorest driving is the kind you find in a rural hamlet such as Park. Run through an ordinary week: South Baddesley Church of England Primary School & Nursery and back, Sowley Lane at a crawl before nine, a quick trip to Co-op Food, a run to Lymington Pier. Not much there lasts long enough or gets hot enough to complete a regeneration. The soot collects rather than burning off.
The M27 lies under 15 miles from Park, Southampton under 10 miles off, and unless something carries you out that way regularly, entire weeks go by without the sustained run that clears a DPF. Geography does not help.
The stage a DPF regeneration can no longer happen
What limp mode comes down to is the car defending itself. With pulling power capped and the revs kept low, the regeneration the filter requires cannot run at all. That matters, because starting one is just what a sustained run does.
Sensible advice, that motorway run — right up until the point it is not. Once the car is in limp mode you are the far side of that stage, and the filter requires cleaning rather than road work.
On-site DPF cleaning where the vehicle stands in Park
The filter does not come off. That is the bit most owners do not expect: the job happens with the DPF yet fixed to the vehicle, on your driveway, in a work car park, anywhere the vehicle can wait for a few hours.
Nothing is started until other faults are cleared. That involves a diagnostic first: real-time data off the ECU, soot load by proportion and by actual weight, and a check of the sensor readings, glow plugs and associated hardware.
Next comes the clean itself: cleaning fluid in through the motor's own entry point, expanding inside the filter and loosening what a regeneration will not. Where the filter is severely clogged, allow for a second pass.
Next, a regeneration clears everything the clean freed. Come with the car and it is done as a monitored drive out of Park. Park it and the regeneration is done statically, with live data read once it is done.
A second diagnostic proves the change, resets the warning light and notes anything still showing. Both sets of figures are sent over, so you keep the before and after figures recorded.
When a DPF clean is not the solution
Cleaning fixes one thing: a filter choked with soot and ash. It does no good for:
- sensors, pressure or temperature, showing a restriction that is not real
- EGR valves that hang open
- a fault in the AdBlue system
- glow plugs or injectors preventing the regeneration running in the first place
- the turbo pushing oil into the filter
Finding that out is the first diagnostic's purpose. Proving to be one of them means finding out it before the work gets going, not after settling up anything.
Two more worth knowing. Getting the filter gutted is not a solution — a vehicle without a serviceable DPF fails its MOT and driving it is an offence. And cleaning is sometimes searched for as DPF renewal: nothing is swapped, your existing filter is cleared in place and put back into use.
DPF cleaning prices across Park
Any visit attracts a call-out charge — getting to you, setting up the booking, doing the diagnostic and offering the advice. The clean itself begins from £299.
No flat rate would be honest, so the figure is fixed by the phone once we know the vehicle and what the filter is going to need. What you run and where you are both change it: Park itself, out at Lower Exbury, or otherwise out in the SO postcode area.
Where the scan says cleaning will not help, you are not billed for cleaning. Because the visit, the scan and the advice have happened, the call-out charge even so applies.
Aftercare is covered by a 30-day warranty: should the light come back within it, an engineer heads back to Park.
The DPF engineer resolved the Exhaust filter issues with our vehicle. He was very efficient and explained the process and what was happening as well as recommendations on how to avoid future problems. Excellent service.
Astonished with attention to detail and information given by Jason M. Prompt and efficient work carried out in a timely manner. Many thanks.
Excellent service provided, same day to clean the filter. Attila was a very nice man friendly, cheerful happy man. Would highly recommend DPF.
The vehicles we clean and the area we cover near Park
One mobile service covers private cars, panel vans and light commercials, HGVs and lorries, construction and plant machinery and agricultural vehicles, and on every one the filter is cleaned on the vehicle rather than taken anywhere.
Park is rarely a special trip: our engineers are along Sowley Lane week in week out, and the same run takes in Lower Exbury, East End and the spots out past East Boldre. Call anyway from farther out across Hampshire. Coverage extends UK-wide, and the date you are given hangs on the diary rather than how far away you are.
Park itself
Park is a small coastal hamlet in Hampshire, situated near the shores of the Solent Strait at an elevation of around 8 metres. Park lies within a short distance of Southampton and is close to nearby places such as Thorns Beach and Bucklers Hard. Park has a population of approximately 233 residents and predominantly features detached housing.
Usual questions on DPF cleaning across Park
- Will a long drive shift it?
- Early enough, and with the car out of limp mode, yes — sometimes. That calls for motorway speed for a sustained stretch, rather than a brief trip to Co-op Food.
- Broadly how long does it run?
- Allow typically around 2 hours — heavily blocked filters sometimes take a second pass, which extends it.
- How much does it run to in Park?
- Cleaning starts from £299, and the call-out charge on top takes in the visit, the diagnostic and the advice. The vehicle and your address both move the price, so we quote on the phone.
- Have I need to be there?
- You do not need to stand with it — the vehicle just needs space to wait for a couple of hours. Come along if you like, and the regeneration is done as a watched drive.
- How soon can someone travel to Park?
- Depending on the calendar, often same-day or next-day is normal. Call 0303 330 1830 and we will tell you what is open across the SO area.
- Does the filter come away from the vehicle?
- It is treated where it stands, on the mobile service. That work — a filter off, a filter back on — is not a job we do.
- Suppose the light returns?
- Aftercare comes inside the 30-day warranty, and that includes an engineer returning to Park.
