Nannerch, Flintshire: Mobile DPF Cleaning
Sorting the DPF takes place at the motor, not at a workshop. Your motor is not taken anywhere and the filter doesn't come off. A fitter comes at your address over in Nannerch, cleans the diesel particulate filter on the vehicle and performs a DPF regeneration.
The visit takes typically around 2 hours, the clean starts from £299, and the price is agreed on the phone before anyone sets off.
The light is already on and the motor is short of power — that is how we generally find people, and what this page deals with.
Your DPF light is showing — what next?
The filter is not automatically what is wrong, and that leads. That light can arise from several faults, not merely one, so the visit opens with a diagnostic and not with a clean.
Second thing: how you drive it between now and then counts.
- Amber light, motor even now driving normally — a long even run can still sort it alone. Costs nothing at all, and worth attempting before you book anything.
- Motor already dropped into limp mode — that window has closed. A drive will not touch it now.
- Diesel smell in the interior, or black smoke under acceleration — stop booking long drives and get it seen to.
What the vehicle has been warning you
By the time the light arrives, things have usually been going wrong for some time. It is last news:
- power dropping away, especially going uphill
- an engine whose revs will not climb as before
- worse fuel economy
- a stop/start that has meekly given up
- the car reeking of diesel, or smoke when you accelerate
Any one of those, taken alone, is not evidence. Next to the light, it is a fair guess the filter is full.
The reason diesel particulate filters clog near Nannerch
Being a village, Nannerch generates just the use a DPF manages worst. Not one bit of it goes on long enough or is hot enough for the filter to see through a regeneration: the school run to the local primary school, Village Road crawling at half eight, a few minutes to Lidl, the hop to Flint. Instead of clearing, the soot load builds up.
Unless you have a standing cause to get out to the M53, under 15 miles from Nannerch, or over to St Asaph under 10 miles away, weeks slip past without a long unbroken run. Geography is unhelpful.
Why limp mode prevents a DPF regeneration
The motor is defending itself, which is what limp mode amounts to. Output is capped, the revs will not climb, and the regeneration the filter needs can no longer run — which is the real catch, because a proper drive works by setting off that regeneration.
The standard advice — get it up the motorway — is good, up until it is not. Past that point — limp mode — more driving will not be enough, and the filter wants treatment.
Mobile DPF cleaning where the car stands round Nannerch
On your driveway, in a work car park, wherever the car can stand for a few hours: the job takes place with the filter yet bolted on, which is the bit most drivers do not anticipate.
A diagnostic goes first — running data off the ECU, soot load by percentage and by mass, and a look over of the sensor readings, glow plugs and related components, so other faults are ruled out before any of it is started.
Soot and ash that a regeneration by itself will never move are loosened after that, by a solution passed through the access port on that car, which expands inside the filter. Where the filter is heavily clogged, allow for a second pass.
Then a regeneration, to clear what the clean has loosened. That is a monitored drive out of Nannerch if you are along, or a static regeneration where the motor sits, with the live data read after.
A second scan confirms the change, puts out the warning light and notes anything still outstanding. Both reports are emailed, so you have the before and after figures recorded.
Where treatment is not the solution
One thing is what cleaning cures — a filter clogged with soot and ash. It does little for:
- sensors, temperature or pressure, reporting a restriction that is not real
- an EGR valve stuck open
- the AdBlue system playing up
- a regeneration that simply never starts, because of glow plugs or injectors
- a turbo passing oil through the filter
Finding that out is the first scan's purpose. Where it turns out to be one of those, you are warned before any work begins rather than after you have paid anything.
Lastly, two things. A vehicle with the filter gutted will fail its MOT, and driving it is an offence, so that is no solution. What gets looked up as DPF renewal swaps nothing: your own filter is cleaned in place and goes back into use.
DPF cleaning costs in Nannerch
A call-out charge applies whatever the outcome, and takes in the visit, the booking fee, the diagnostic and the advice offered. The clean itself opens from £299.
Once we know what you own, and roughly what the filter will need, the price gets agreed on the phone. A single price for all would not be truthful. What you run and where you are both move it: Nannerch itself, across at Pen-y-felin, or otherwise out across the CH postcode area.
If the scan counts cleaning out, there is not a penny to pay for it. What even so holds is the call-out charge, since the visit took place, the check was done and the advice was passed on.
If the light comes back inside that window, an engineer travels back out to Nannerch — the work carries a 30-day warranty taking in aftercare.
Brilliant company! Highly recommend! came out to us next day! Paid an upfront fee over the phone which was reasonable and they didn't even charge us for the outstanding balance due to a damage DPF. Such lovely people, honest, reliable, trustworthy professional company would definitely use/recommend. Thanks again Guys.
Couldn't be happier with the service I received. Great communication and friendly knowledgeable staff. Would recommend and use again in the future.
Timely fix, effective and affable. Engine amber warning light on again this morning but my local garage able to reset it. Just quite expensive. Thanks.
What we clean, and how far we travel near Nannerch
Whatever it is — private car, van, light commercial, heavy goods vehicle, plant, construction machinery, agricultural vehicle — the one on-site service stands, and the filter never quits it.
Technicians are along Village Road most weeks, so Nannerch is seldom a special trip, and the same run picks up Pen-y-felin, Walwen and the places out past Lixwm. Coverage is UK-wide, so farther out through Flintshire is still worth a ring, and what settles between today and tomorrow is the schedule rather than the distance.

What Nannerch drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Can I simply take it for a long drive?
- Early enough, and with the vehicle out of limp mode, yes — sometimes. Fifteen minutes to Lidl and back will not be enough; motorway speed, held for a stretch, will.
- Does the visit take long?
- Allow typically around 2 hours — badly blocked filters sometimes require a second pass, which adds to it.
- What does it come to across Nannerch?
- It opens from £299, plus the call-out charge covering the visit, the scan and the advice. Settling it is done by phone, since what you own and where you are both change the number.
- Have I need to be there?
- The vehicle needs a spot for two hours or so. Nobody expects you to be in it. If you would sooner come along, the regeneration can be carried out as a monitored drive instead.
- Can someone get to Nannerch soon?
- That hangs on the schedule, but it is often same-day or next-day. Phone 0303 330 1830 and we will let you what is open across the CH area.
- Does the filter come off the motor?
- Not on the mobile service — it is cleaned where it stands. That work — a filter off, a filter back on — is not something we do.
- Suppose the light comes back?
- Aftercare sits inside the 30-day warranty, and that includes an engineer returning to Nannerch.
