Mobile DPF Cleaner

Mobile DPF Cleaning for Hook End, Oxfordshire

Everything a workshop would use on your DPF is all in the mobile unit that arrives at your place in Hook End.

Your vehicle isn't taken away and the DPF doesn't need to be removed. The DPF engineer drives a fitted-out working van to you, treats the unit in place, runs the regeneration and wraps up the job there. It lasts roughly a couple of hours, begins from £299, and the price is settled by phone before anyone is sent out.

Call-out DPF cleaning around Hook End, from start to finish

Somewhere for the mobile unit to park. An engine that will run at intervals. That's honestly the whole of it.

After that, the visit is out of your hands:

  1. A percentage and a soot weight are drawn from the engine ECU first, together with a test the related parts, sensor readings and glow-plug circuit, prior to anything being cleaned.
  2. You can't burn the ash away with a regeneration, so the solution goes in through the entry point on that car and opens out inside the DPF.
  3. Where it stands is the usual, with a monitored trip out of Hook End on offer if you care to come along, and the regeneration clears the freed deposit regardless.
  4. Any fault codes still unresolved get reported at that point, once the difference has been proved and the light reset.

Both diagnostic reports are sent afterwards, so the opening and closing figures are documented.

Where does mobile DPF cleaning get done across Hook End?

Anywhere the motor can sit for the couple of hours.

Which normally amounts to one of these:

  • A drive at home across in Hook End
  • Where you stand it at the office
  • The spare end of a yard
  • Off Hookend Lane, in a corner
  • The The Co-operative Food car park round the corner while you get on with something else

The DPF never comes off the vehicle, so there is no reason for you to wait with it.

Why diesel particulate filters clog round Hook End

It's the day-to-day driving rather than the DPF, and in a rural hamlet such as Hook End that driving is the worst type for it. Think about the week: Checkendon Church of England (A) Primary School and back, Park Lane crawling at half eight, five minutes at The Co-operative Food, a hop to Pangbourne. None of it runs long enough or runs hot enough to complete a burn cycle, so the soot just banks up.

Just under 10 miles to the M4 and under 25 miles to Oxford from Hook End. Neither is a long way. Neither is on the way to anywhere most weeks, though, so the drive that would clear a filter never gets made.

Fuel economy is usually what people notice first. The stop/start goes without a word, power drops away, the revs will not climb properly, and there may be a diesel odour in the cabin or black smoke on acceleration — often well before the light appears.

What will on-site DPF cleaning not answer?

If soot has blocked your unit, treatment is the cure. A great many other problems show that same light on the same dash, which is why there's a diagnostic at the start and nothing is started until that's done.

A clean will not fix:

  • The system being told there is a blockage when there is not one
  • A stuck-open EGR valve
  • A fault in the AdBlue system, on the vehicles that carry one
  • Plugs or injectors preventing the regeneration from running
  • Turbo faults putting oil into the DPF

If it proves to be any of them, you'll be told it prior to any work starting — not once you've handed over.

Two others worth bearing in mind. Having the filter hollowed out is not a solution — a vehicle without a functioning DPF cannot pass its MOT and driving it is against the law. And cleaning is sometimes searched for as DPF renewal: nothing is replaced, your existing DPF is cleared in place and put back into service.

The cheapest thing to try first

Where a unit has only begun to load up, a long run often clears it with nobody touching it. A further five more minutes to Gallowstree Common and back won't be enough. You need the M4, under 10 miles from Hook End, held at a constant speed — or the longer way around to Oxford.

That window shuts the moment the light appears and the motor falls into limp mode, at which point a mobile clean is the route.

How much is call-out DPF cleaning in Hook End?

Where mobile DPF regeneration opens is from £299. A call-out charge covers each visit, taking in the call-out, the booking, the diagnostic and the guidance that goes with it.

What a particular job comes to rests on the vehicle and on what the DPF actually needs, so the number is given by phone rather than listed as a fixed rate. Hook End itself, out by Exlade Street, or the far side of the RG postcode area — where you sit feeds in, and so does the car. Both are fixed prior to a soul setting off.

The work comes with a 30-day warranty extending to aftercare. If the DPF warning light reappears within that period, a DPF engineer returns to Hook End.

Which vehicles do we treat DPFs on around Hook End?

One on-site visit, covering:

  • Cars
  • Car-derived vans and light commercials
  • Your HGV fleet
  • Site plant and site machinery
  • Farm equipment and machinery

Cleaning in place is the method on all of them, and it takes place at your place across in Hook End rather than at a workshop of ours.

Our own workshop steps in where an engine will not start: once your garage or you have got the DPF off and a driver has delivered it in, it is cleaned within 24 hours. Taking off and refitting are outside both services.

Excellent service from the first phone call, to the completed job! Courteous & knowledgeable everything was explained about the job, very happy with the outcome.

Keith Y.

Great service. Quick to answer and very flexible team. I'd personally like to say a big thanks to Attila, who was exceptional. He is a great asset to DPF fixer team. Thank you.

Jozsef N.

The service was great. I book for my dpf system to be cleaned and it was done the following day at home. Great work by Liamf along with post service status and maintenance advice.

The RG area and Hook End: our coverage

Our technicians are down Park Lane most weeks, so Hook End is seldom a special trip. The same run includes Exlade Street and Checkendon, and the smaller places over past Gallowstree Common and Woodcote.

Beyond that across Oxfordshire, the call is nonetheless worth placing. Coverage reaches UK-wide; what settles whether it is today or tomorrow is the local diary rather than the mileage.

What Hook End drivers ask about mobile DPF cleaning

How long does the job run?

Around two hours. A heavily blocked DPF can need a repeat clean, which extends that.

How much is call-out DPF cleaning in Hook End?

It begins from £299, plus the call-out charge that pays for the journey, check and advice. The car and your whereabouts both shift the price, so we cost it by phone.

Can you travel to my house or my workplace?

Anywhere in Hook End and the surrounding Oxfordshire area, home or work. Cleaning is done on the motor, in situ, and the unit is never removed.

Can you get to Hook End today?

What is already in settles it, but same-day and next-day are common. Phone 0303 330 1830 and we'll tell you there and then what's open across the RG patch.

Is there a charge if it is found not to be the DPF?

Either way that charge applies, since it covers the call-out, the diagnostic and the advice. No charge is added for work that was not done.

What happens if that warning light shows again?

The 30-day warranty extends to aftercare, including an engineer coming back to Hook End.

How long will the cleaning hold up?

It hinges on how you drive it from then on. Out towards Oxford, or along the M4, is worth far more to the DPF than short trips over to Exlade Street and back.
