Mobile DPF Cleaning in Brook and Lancashire
With on-site DPF cleaning, we drive out to the motor. The engineer pulls up at your place over in Brook and starts. The diesel particulate filter is treated still on the car, a DPF regeneration follows, and you keep the filter you came with.
You'll know a price by phone before anyone leaves, the clean starting from £299, and the visit taking typically around 2 hours.
If the light is already on and the car is low on power, this page is for you. That is how most owners get to us.
Your DPF light is on — what next?
The filter is not automatically what is to blame, and that comes first. A scan happens before all treatment, because that same dashboard light has several candidate faults behind it.
Second thing: how you handle it between now and then matters.
- Worth a try before you ring anything: amber light, motor driving fine, just one constant run, no charge.
- That window has shut once the vehicle has fallen into limp mode. Motoring will not do it now.
- Get it seen to rather than running it — diesel in the interior, or smoke on hard acceleration, has gone past the long-run stage.
Before the light, what the car was telling you
Belated news, the light. The symptoms generally build for some time before it appears:
- power falling off, especially climbing uphill
- an engine whose revs will not rise as they should
- the fuel consumption is down
- the stop/start without a word giving up
- diesel in the car, or smoke on the way up through the gears
That is not conclusive by itself. Next to the light, it is a fair bet the filter is blocked.
What blocks diesel particulate filters round Brook
Being a rural hamlet, Brook produces precisely the motoring a DPF manages least well. Nothing of it goes on long enough or is hot enough for the filter to see through a regeneration: the school run to St Francis Catholic Primary School, Goosnargh, Broadith Lane crawling at half eight, ten minutes to Aldi, the run to Preston. What should burn away remains.
The M55 stands under 3 miles from Brook, Preston under 10 miles out, and unless something takes you out that way routinely, full weeks slip past without the sustained run that empties a filter. Geography does not oblige.
Limp mode, and when DPF regeneration stops working
It is self-defence: that is all limp mode means. With pulling power limited and the revs pinned, the regeneration the filter needs will not happen at all. That tells, because triggering one is exactly what a motorway run does.
Sound advice, that motorway run — until the moment it is not. In limp mode you are the far side of that line: cleaning is what will work, not more driving.
DPF cleaning at the car across Brook
On your front, in a work car park, wherever the vehicle can stand for a while: the job happens with the filter still bolted on, which is the part most people do not anticipate.
A scan goes first — real-time data off the ECU, soot load by percent and by weight, and a look over of the sensors, glow plugs and associated parts, so other faults are cleared before anything is touched.
Soot and ash that a regeneration alone will never budge are loosened after that, by a solution fed through the entry point on that car, which expands inside the filter. Badly blocked filters sometimes require a second pass.
What the clean has loosened is then cleared by a regeneration. That is a monitored drive out of Brook if you are present, or a static regeneration where the vehicle sits, with the live data verified after.
Then a second scan, proving the change, putting out the warning light and logging anything still outstanding. Both sets of figures are emailed over, so the before and after figures are on record.
When a DPF clean is not the fix
Only one fault is answered by cleaning: the filter clogged with ash and soot. It does little for:
- a pressure sensor reporting a block that is not there
- the EGR valve held open
- a problem in the AdBlue system
- worn glow plugs or injectors, so never a regeneration ever starts
- turbo problems, with oil entering the filter
Finding that out is the first check's purpose. When it proves to be one of those, you are let know before any work begins rather than after you have handed over a penny.
DPF renewal is what people search for, but no part is exchanged: the filter you already own is cleaned where it sits and sent back into service. Nor is having it gutted a fix, since the MOT then fails and driving becomes unlawful. Two more things worth knowing.
What DPF cleaning runs to around Brook
The clean starts from £299. A call-out charge is added to every visit, and takes in the call-out itself, the booking, the check and the advice that goes with it.
No single flat rate would be straight, so the figure is settled over the phone once we are told the vehicle and what the filter is going to need. Two separate things move it: what you own, and where you are — Brook itself, over at Cumeragh Village, or otherwise out in the PR postcode area.
If the scan writes treatment out, there is nothing to pay for it. You nonetheless pay that charge: someone travelled, did the scan and gave you the advice.
Aftercare is taken in by a 30-day warranty: should the light reappear within it, an engineer comes back to Brook.
Absolutely fantastic service from Daniel when he arrived to fix my car, nothing was too much trouble and he took time to explain everything to me, would highly recommend to anyone & would definitely use again. Thank you Dan for a fantastic job.
Good Service, Person who repair my car was also nice, My car works fine now. No complaints. Definitely recommend to others.
Daz was very friendly and helpful. Although the issue with my car was a lot more than the DPF, he helped me understand the problem so I could make an informed decision on where to go/what to do next.
What we clean, and how far we reach around Brook
Cars, vans and light commercials, HGVs and lorries, construction and plant machinery, agricultural vehicles — the one call-out service across all of them, and on all of them the filter is cleaned in place rather than moved anywhere.
Brook is seldom a special trip: technicians are out on Broadith Lane most weeks, and the same run covers Cumeragh Village, Whittingham and the villages out past Goosnargh. Further out around Lancashire is still worth phoning about — coverage reaches UK-wide, and it is the calendar rather than the distance that decides between this day and the next.

Questions Brook drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Does a long run sort it?
- Sometimes, if you catch it early enough and the vehicle has not dropped into limp mode. That calls for motorway speed for a long stretch, rather than a short trip to Aldi.
- Does the visit last long?
- It is typically around 2 hours. A badly blocked filter can need a second clean, which adds to that.
- Cost across Brook — what is it?
- Starting from £299, with a charge for coming out that takes in the check and advice on what to do next. The vehicle and your address both shift the number, so we quote on the phone.
- Must I be around in person?
- The vehicle requires a place for two hours or so. You do not need to be in it. The regeneration can be carried out as a supervised drive if you would rather come along.
- How soon can someone travel to Brook?
- That hangs on the calendar, but it is often same-day or next-day. One phone call to 0303 330 1830 and you will hear what the PR area has available.
- The filter — does it leave the motor?
- Not on the on-site service — it is cleaned where it is. We will not get filters off or fit them back on, whichever way.
- And if the light reappears?
- Taken in by the 30-day warranty: aftercare, and an engineer heading back to Brook.
