Beech, Staffordshire: Mobile DPF Cleaning
The vehicle remains in place — mobile DPF cleaning comes to it. A technician arrives at your door over in Beech, treats the diesel particulate filter while it is still on the vehicle, runs a DPF regeneration, and you keep the filter you started with.
You'll be given a price by phone before anyone goes, the clean beginning from £299, and the visit taking typically around 2 hours.
Most owners find us with the light showing, and the car down on power. That is the position this page is meant for.
DPF light on? What comes next
Not the DPF, always. First thing to get straight. That light can follow several faults, not just one, so the visit opens with a scan and not with cleaning.
How the motor is run in the meantime counts too.
- Vehicle still driving as normal on an amber light — attempt a long constant run first. It costs nothing at all and often shifts the filter without assistance.
- That window has shut once the car has slipped into limp mode. A drive will not get there now.
- Get it seen to rather than driving it — diesel in the car, or smoke on the throttle, has gone past the long-run stage.
Signs the car has been showing you
Late news, the light. The symptoms tend to grow for weeks before it appears:
- less power, particularly going uphill
- the revs no longer pull the way they once did
- fuel consumption getting worse
- the stop/start silently packing in
- smoke under acceleration, or a diesel smell in the car
Any one of those, taken by itself, is not evidence. It is a fair bet the filter is blocked once the light is on as well.
The cause diesel particulate filters clog near Beech
Beech is a small village, and the motoring that comes with one is the least kind type for a DPF. Not one bit of it goes on long enough or runs hot enough for the filter to complete a regeneration: the school run to Tittensor CofE (C) First School, Beechdale Lane barely moving at half past eight, a few minutes to One Stop, the dash to Wedgwood. The unburnt soot builds up rather than burning away.
Neither is a long way from Beech: under a mile to the M6, under 10 miles to Stoke-on-Trent. Neither is on the way to anywhere most weeks, though, so the drive that would empty a filter hardly ever gets made.
DPF regeneration, and the point limp mode ends it
It is self-defence: that is all limp mode means. With pulling power held down and the revs kept low, the regeneration the filter wants will not run at all. That tells, because setting off one is precisely what a sustained run does.
The usual advice — take it up the motorway — is good, up until it is not. In limp mode you are the far side of that line: treatment is what will work, not more road work.
The vehicle stays where it is for call-out DPF cleaning round Beech
Nothing comes off the vehicle. That throws people. The DPF remains fixed where it is and the work happens around it, on a driveway, in a works car park, anywhere it can wait for a few hours.
Nothing is cleaned until other faults are cleared. That involves a scan first: real-time data off the ECU, soot load by proportion and by mass, and a look over of the sensor feeds, glow plugs and connected hardware.
Soot and ash that a regeneration alone will never shift are freed next, by a cleaning solution put through the access port on that motor, which opens out inside the filter. Sometimes a filter is blocked enough to need doing twice.
What the clean has lifted is then cleared by a regeneration. Come with the car and it becomes a monitored drive out of Beech. Park it and the regeneration is done statically, with running data read once it is done.
Finally the diagnostic runs again — the change verified, the light cleared, anything still outstanding logged. Both read-outs arrive with you by email, so the numbers are kept.
Where a clean is not the answer
Only one fault is cured by treatment: the filter clogged with ash and soot. It does little for:
- sensors, pressure, flagging a block that is not real
- the EGR valve jammed open
- AdBlue system problems
- a regeneration that simply never starts, because of glow plugs or injectors
- a turbo putting oil through the filter
The first diagnostic is there for exactly that. Proving to be one of them means finding out it before work begins, not after settling up anything.
A couple more worth noting. Leaving the filter gutted is not a remedy — a vehicle without a functioning DPF cannot pass its MOT and driving it is an offence. And cleaning is sometimes searched for as DPF renewal: nothing is replaced, your existing filter is cleared in place and returned into use.
DPF cleaning costs around Beech
Treatment starts from £299, with the call-out charge on top of that for every visit — it covers the call-out, the booking, the diagnostics and the advice.
Quoting a flat rate would not be honest. We agree it on the phone, once the car and its probable needs are known. The car changes it, and so does the location — Beech, Tittensor, or somewhere otherwise out in the ST postcode area.
If the scan rules a clean out, there is nothing to pay for it. The call-out charge still stands, because the visit, the scan and the advice have been done.
A 30-day warranty takes in aftercare on the work, and that includes an engineer coming back out to Beech if the light comes back inside the period.
Excellent service today, thanks. I was able to track my engineer, Zoltan, before he arrived at the job. He was efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. He knew exactly what needed to be done and made the whole process easy. Would definitely recommend Zoltan and DPF fixer, thanks.
Ashley came out to my address to clean my dpf filter, he was polite and courteous all the time.
Brilliant! Rang at 7:30 and they called me back at 8:05 without any voicemail from me. Came in the afternoon and sorted within 2 hours. Great team members dave and his colleague who explained everything to me.
The vehicles we clean and the patch we cover near Beech
Cars, vans and light commercials, heavy goods vehicles, plant machinery, farm vehicles — one call-out service across all of them, and on all of them the filter is cleaned in place rather than moved anywhere.
Week in week out there is usually someone on Beechdale Lane, so Beech rarely means a journey of its own, and Tittensor, Upper Hatton and the spots past Swynnerton follow. It is the diary, not the distance, that decides whether it is today or tomorrow, and coverage runs UK-wide — so call still from even further out around Staffordshire.

Things Beech drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Does a long run shift it?
- Soon enough, and with the vehicle out of limp mode, yes — sometimes. That requires motorway speed for a steady run, rather than a short trip to One Stop.
- Roughly how long does it run?
- It is typically around 2 hours. A severely loaded filter can take a second clean, which lengthens that.
- Around Beech, what does it cost?
- The call-out charge covers the visit, the scan and the advice; treatment itself starts from £299. Pricing is done by phone, since what you own and where you sit both change the price.
- Have I have to be there?
- No. The vehicle wants space to wait for a couple of hours; nobody expects you to stand with it. Travel along if you like, and the regeneration is done as a watched drive.
- How soon can someone come to Beech?
- You are looking at often same-day or next-day, though it depends what is now in the calendar. Ring 0303 330 1830 and we will tell you what is free across the ST area.
- Is the filter lifted off the car?
- Not on the on-site service — it is treated where it stands. Neither job — a filter off, a filter back on — is not something we do.
- Suppose the light reappears?
- An engineer comes back out to Beech — the 30-day warranty takes in aftercare.
