- falling off on power, especially uphill
- an engine whose revs will not climb as before
- worse fuel use
- stop/start without a word bowing out
- a diesel smell in the interior, or smoke under hard acceleration
On its own, none of that is proof. It is a fair guess the filter is full once the light is showing too.
