Before the light, what the motor was telling you
Symptoms have generally been growing for weeks before the light ever arrives. Belated news, in other words:
- tailing off on power, above all uphill
- revs that will not pull the way they once did
- fuel consumption getting worse
- the stop/start without a word packing in
- the interior reeking of diesel, or smoke when you accelerate
That is not conclusive alone. Next to the light with them, the filter is a fair bet.
The cause diesel particulate filters clog round Wilcrick
