Mobile DPF Cleaning across Warningcamp and West Sussex
Call-out DPF cleaning travels to the motor. A fitter comes at your address across Warningcamp, cleans the diesel particulate filter while it is attached to the motor, carries out a DPF regeneration, and you keep the filter you started with.
Nobody travels until the number is agreed on the phone. The visit takes typically around 2 hours and the clean opens from £299.
The light is showing and the vehicle is down on power — that is how we generally meet people, and precisely what this page covers.
Your DPF light is lit — what now?
First thing: it is not necessarily the DPF. A diagnostic happens before the treatment, because that same dashboard light has plenty of possible faults behind it.
It matters what you get with the car between now and the appointment.
- Worth a go before you call anything: amber light, car driving normally, just one constant run, no charge.
- That window has closed once the motor has slipped into limp mode. Motoring will not do it now.
- Get it looked at rather than driving it — diesel in the cabin, or smoke on hard acceleration, has gone past the long-run stage.
Before the light, what the vehicle was telling you
By the time the light shows, things have generally been deteriorating for a while. It is late news:
- falling off on power, especially uphill
- you notice the revs stop short of where they always went
- economy that is worse than it used to be
- without a word, the stop/start gives up
- the cabin reeking of diesel, or smoke when you pull away
That is not conclusive by itself. It is a fair assumption the filter is full once the light is on as well.
What chokes diesel particulate filters around Warningcamp
Being a village, Warningcamp produces just the motoring a DPF manages the poorest. The school run to St Philip's Catholic Primary School, Burpham Road at a crawl at half past eight, a few minutes to Co-op Food, the hop to Arundel — nothing of it runs long enough or runs hot enough for the filter to finish a regeneration. Instead of burning off, the soot banks up.
Except when you have a standing need to get out to the Waterlooville Bypass, under 25 miles from Warningcamp, or across to Chichester under 15 miles away, weeks pass without a long steady stint. Geography is against you.
The stage a DPF regeneration can no longer complete
What limp mode means is the car looking after itself. The whole problem is that a long drive works by starting a regeneration, and once in limp mode the revs will not climb and power is capped.
Sensible advice, that motorway run — right up until the day it is not. Once the car is in limp mode you are the far side of that point, and the filter requires cleaning rather than road work.
Where the vehicle stands is where the DPF is cleaned round Warningcamp
Nothing leaves the motor. That surprises people. The DPF sits fixed where it is and the work happens around it, on a driveway, in a works car park, any place it can sit for a few hours.
The ECU is interrogated first, reporting soot load by percentage and by actual weight, along with a review of sensor feeds, glow plugs and related parts, so nothing is started while another fault is still in play.
Then the clean. A solution goes in through the entry point on that car and expands inside the filter, loosening the soot and ash a regeneration alone will never move. A second pass is sometimes needed on severely clogged filters.
Next, a regeneration drives off everything the clean loosened. Come with the car and it is done as a monitored drive out of Warningcamp. Park it and the regeneration runs on the spot, with real-time data checked once it is done.
Both sets of figures come through by email, so the figures from either end are recorded. The second diagnostic is what verifies the change, puts out the light and notes whatever is still outstanding.
When a DPF clean is not the answer
One thing is what cleaning cures — a filter clogged with soot and ash. It does nothing for:
- sensors, pressure or temperature, reporting a restriction that is not real
- EGR valves that jam open
- AdBlue system problems
- worn glow plugs or injectors, so not one regeneration ever runs
- turbo trouble, with oil reaching the filter
Which is why the diagnostic comes first. You are warned before the work gets going, not after you have settled up, where it turns out to be one of those.
Lastly, two things. A vehicle with the filter gutted cannot pass its MOT, and driving it is against the law, so that is no solution. What gets looked up as DPF renewal swaps nothing: your existing filter is cleaned in place and goes back into work.
What DPF cleaning costs around Warningcamp
A clean begins from £299, with the call-out charge on top of that for every visit — it pays for the call-out, the booking, the checks and the advice.
Quoting a flat rate would not be truthful. We settle it on the phone, once the vehicle and its probable needs are established. What you run and where you are both shift it: Warningcamp itself, out at Arundel, or further out across the BN postcode area.
Cleaning that will not work is not treatment you pay for, and the scan is what says so. What nonetheless applies is the call-out charge, since the visit took place, the scan was run and the advice was offered.
The clean includes a 30-day warranty covering aftercare, including an engineer coming back out to Warningcamp if the light comes back inside that period.

What we clean, and how far we travel around Warningcamp
The one on-site service covers cars, panel vans and light commercials, HGVs and lorries, plant machinery and agricultural machinery, and on every one the filter is cleaned on the vehicle rather than carried anywhere.
Warningcamp is seldom a special trip: engineers are working Burpham Road most weeks, and the same run takes in Arundel, Burpham and the spots out past Crossbush. Coverage runs UK-wide, so even further out across West Sussex is nonetheless worth a ring, and what settles between today and tomorrow is the schedule rather than the distance.

What Warningcamp drivers want to know about DPF cleaning
- Is a long drive enough by itself?
- If you get it early enough, and the motor is not in limp mode, sometimes. That requires motorway speed for a sustained run, rather than a quick trip to Co-op Food.
- How long does the visit take?
- That is typically around 2 hours, though a severely blocked filter can need cleaning twice, which takes longer.
- The cost in Warningcamp — what is it?
- The call-out charge covers the visit, the scan and the advice; the clean itself begins from £299. We price on the phone, because the vehicle and your address both shift the figure.
- Have I have to be around?
- No. The car wants a spot to wait for a couple of hours; you need not stand with it. Travel along if you prefer, and the regeneration is done as a watched drive.
- How soon can someone travel to Warningcamp?
- You are in for often same-day or next-day, though it depends what is currently in the schedule. Ring 0303 330 1830 and we will let you what is available across the BN area.
- The filter — does it come off the vehicle?
- Treated where it is, on this service, so no. Lifting a filter off or fitting one back on come to anything work we do either way.
- What if the light returns?
- The 30-day warranty covers aftercare, including an engineer coming back to Warningcamp.
