Mobile DPF Cleaning in Wadebridge and Cornwall
The motor stays where it is — on-site DPF cleaning travels to it. No body shop, no filter coming off. A fitter travels to your place across Wadebridge, clears the diesel particulate filter as it sits, runs a DPF regeneration, and you end up with the filter you came with.
The visit runs typically around 2 hours, the clean starts from £299, and the number is fixed by the phone before anyone travels.
The light is on already and the motor is low on power — that is how we usually find people, and roughly what this page covers.
Your DPF light is showing — what now?
It could not be the filter at all. That is the opening thing. That light can arise from plenty of faults, not just one, so the visit begins with a diagnostic and not with treatment.
It tells what you manage with the car between now and the visit.
- Car even now driving fine on an amber light — have a go at a long steady run first. It costs nothing at all and often clears the filter without a visit.
- That window has closed once the vehicle has fallen into limp mode. Driving will not do it now.
- Diesel smell in the interior, or black smoke under hard acceleration — stop arranging long drives and get it looked at.
Signs the motor has been sending you
By the time the light shows, things have usually been deteriorating for a while. It is last news:
- power dropping away, especially pulling uphill
- the revs no longer rise the way they always did
- economy that is worse than it was
- a stop/start that has quietly given up
- diesel in the cabin, or smoke on the way up through the box
That is not conclusive by itself. Alongside the light beside them, the filter is a fair assumption.
The cause diesel particulate filters choke near Wadebridge
For a DPF, the worst driving is the type you get around a coastal town such as Wadebridge. Run through a typical week: St Breock Primary School and back, Polmorla Road at a standstill before half nine, a short hop to Co-op Food, a run to Roche. Not much there goes on long enough or is hot enough to see through a regeneration. The soot builds up rather than burning away.
Geography does not help either. The M5 is over 50 miles from Wadebridge and Truro is under 25 miles away, so unless something takes you out that way regularly, whole weeks slip past without the long steady run that might empty the filter alone.
Limp mode, and when DPF regeneration stops
The vehicle is defending itself, which is what limp mode means. With power held down and the revs held, the regeneration the filter wants will not complete at all. That counts, because starting one is just what a sustained run does.
Getting it up the motorway is the common advice, and it works as far as a limit. The filter requires a clean rather than road work once the vehicle has dropped into limp mode.
Where the motor stands is where the DPF is treated in Wadebridge
Most owners do not anticipate this detail: the filter stays on. The job happens with the DPF even now fixed to the car — on your drive, in a work car park, any place the vehicle can stand for a few hours.
A check goes first — live data off the ECU, soot load by percent and by mass, and a review of the sensors, glow plugs and associated hardware, so other faults are eliminated before anything is started.
Then the treatment. A solution goes in through the access port on that car and opens out inside the filter, loosening the soot and ash a regeneration alone will never shift. Badly blocked filters sometimes require a second pass.
Then a regeneration, to burn off what the clean has freed. Stay with the vehicle and it is done as a monitored drive out of Wadebridge. Drop it and the regeneration runs in place, with real-time data read once it is done.
A second diagnostic proves the change, puts out the warning light and notes anything still showing. Both reports are emailed over, so you have the before and after figures on record.
When a DPF clean is not the answer
A filter clogged with soot and ash is the one thing cleaning fixes. It will not help:
- the wrong signal from a temperature sensor
- an EGR valve held open
- the AdBlue system playing up
- injectors or glow plugs that stop a regeneration completing in the first place
- oil working through the filter from a faulty turbo
Which is why the diagnostic comes first. You are let know before all work gets going, not after you have settled up, if it turns out to be one of those.
Two more worth knowing. Having the filter hollowed out is not a solution — a vehicle without a working DPF fails its MOT and driving it is an offence. And cleaning is sometimes described as DPF renewal: nothing is replaced, your existing filter is cleaned in place and put back into use.
The cost for DPF cleaning in Wadebridge
Every visit attracts a call-out charge — coming out to you, setting up the booking, doing the scan and passing on the advice. The clean itself starts from £299.
Once we are told what you own, and roughly what the filter will want, the price gets settled over phone. A single price for everyone would not be straight. What you own and where you are both change it: Wadebridge itself, out at Trenant, or further out in the PL postcode area.
Where the scan says treatment will not do it, you are not charged for a clean. You even so pay that charge: someone travelled, did the scan and gave you the advice.
Aftercare is covered by a 30-day warranty: should the light come back within it, an engineer comes back to Wadebridge.
Attila was very professional knew what he was dealing with fixed the problem, fingers crossed the problem won't return as it has every time the garage has fixed it.
What a fantastic company to deal with, so professional from start to finish and big credit to Dave. Thank you once again and definitely I gonna use your service in the future.
From start to finish the company was great. Would definitely recommend if you are having DPF problems as they will get it sorted in a very quick manner.
Where we travel around Wadebridge, and what we clean
Whatever it is — estate, light van, light commercial, HGV, plant, construction machinery, agricultural vehicle — the one call-out service stands, and the filter never leaves it.
Wadebridge is seldom a special trip: engineers are out on Polmorla Road nearly every week, and the same run takes in Trenant, Bodieve and the spots out past Egloshayle. Further out around Cornwall is still worth a call — coverage is UK-wide, and it is the diary rather than the distance that settles between today and tomorrow.

Frequent questions on DPF cleaning around Wadebridge
- Is a long drive enough alone?
- Sometimes, if you spot it early and the vehicle has not dropped into limp mode. It takes a sustained run at motorway speed, not five minutes flat to Co-op Food and back.
- How long does the visit last?
- Allow typically around 2 hours — badly clogged filters sometimes need a second pass, which extends it.
- Cost across Wadebridge — what is it?
- Cleaning starts from £299, and the call-out charge on top takes in the visit, the diagnostic and the advice. Both the vehicle and where you are move it, which is why settling it goes by phone.
- Must I be there in person?
- Somewhere for the vehicle to stand, for a couple of hours, is all that is required. Not you. Ride along if you would rather, and the regeneration is done as a supervised drive.
- How soon can someone get to Wadebridge?
- Depending on the diary, often same-day or next-day is normal. Ask 0303 330 1830 what is open across the PL area.
- Is the filter taken off the vehicle?
- It is cleaned where it is, on the mobile service. Neither lifting a filter off nor putting one back on is work we do.
- And if the light returns?
- An engineer heads back out to Wadebridge — the 30-day warranty includes aftercare.
