Mobile DPF Cleaning serving The Rectangle, Wiltshire
Call-out DPF cleaning comes to the motor. No garage, no filter going anywhere. An engineer drives out to your place across The Rectangle, treats the diesel particulate filter where it is, carries out a DPF regeneration, and you end up with the filter you arrived with.
Nobody sets off until the number is agreed over the phone. The visit lasts typically around 2 hours and the clean begins from £299.
The light is on already and the motor is short of power — that is how we generally come across people, and precisely what this page is about.
Your DPF light is lit — what next?
The DPF is not automatically what is wrong, and that comes first. A number of faults put the same light on the very same dash, which is why a visit opens with a check rather than with a clean.
It matters what you get with the car between now and the appointment.
- Amber light, motor yet driving as normal — a long constant run can even now shift it on its own. Costs nothing, and worth attempting before you call anything.
- That window has closed once the vehicle has fallen into limp mode. Driving will not get there now.
- Stop arranging long drives and get it checked if the car reeks of diesel or there is black smoke when you pull away.
What the motor has been showing you
Symptoms have usually been growing for some time before the light so much as shows. Late news, in other words:
- dropping away on power, above all uphill
- revs that will not pull the way they always did
- consumption that is worse than it was
- stop/start silently bowing out
- diesel in the interior, or smoke on the way up through the gears
Any one of those, taken by itself, is not conclusive. The light beside them indicates a blocked filter.
What chokes diesel particulate filters near The Rectangle
Being a small village, The Rectangle throws up precisely the use a DPF manages the poorest. The school run to Red Oaks Primary School, Burne Jones Avenue at a halt at half eight, five minutes to Lidl, the dash to Swindon — nothing of it runs long enough or runs hot enough for the filter to see through a regeneration. Unburnt soot that should burn off builds up instead.
Neither is a long way from The Rectangle: under 5 miles to the M4, under 50 miles to Gloucester. Neither is on the way to anywhere most weeks, though, so the drive that would clear a filter never comes.
The moment a DPF regeneration can no longer run
What limp mode means is the vehicle protecting itself. With pulling power limited and the revs kept low, the regeneration the filter wants will not happen at all. That matters, because setting off one is just what a sustained run does.
The standard advice — take it up the motorway — is good, until it is not. Beyond that line — limp mode — driving will not be enough, and the filter wants cleaning.
Where the car stands is where the DPF is cleaned across The Rectangle
On your drive, in a work car park, wherever the vehicle can sit for a few hours: the job happens with the filter even now bolted on, which is the bit most people do not expect.
A diagnostic comes first — live data off the ECU, soot load by proportion and by mass, and a check of the sensor feeds, glow plugs and related components, so other faults are cleared before any of it is cleaned.
Next comes the clean itself: solution in through the car's own access port, opening out inside the filter and loosening what a regeneration never can. Sometimes a filter is clogged enough to require doing twice.
A regeneration is next, driving off what the clean has lifted. That is a monitored drive out of The Rectangle if you are there, or a static regeneration where the motor waits, with the live data read afterwards.
Then a second check, confirming the change, putting out the warning light and noting anything still outstanding. Both reports are emailed, so the before and after figures are on record.
The faults a DPF clean cannot cure
A filter clogged with soot and ash is the one thing a clean cures. It will not reach:
- the wrong figure from a temperature or pressure sensor
- the EGR valve held open
- an AdBlue system problem
- injectors or glow plugs that prevent a regeneration running at all
- a turbo passing oil through the filter
Which is why the check comes first. Where it proves to be one of those, you are told before any work gets going rather than after you have handed over a penny.
Lastly, two things. A vehicle with the filter hollowed out fails its MOT, and driving it is against the law, so that is no solution. What gets searched for as DPF renewal swaps nothing: your filter is cleaned in place and goes back into use.
DPF cleaning charges in The Rectangle
Cleaning starts from £299, with the call-out charge on top of that for every visit — it takes in the call-out, the booking, the scans and the advice.
Publishing a flat rate would not be truthful. We settle it by phone, once the motor and its expected needs are known. What you run and where you are both shift it: The Rectangle itself, across at Ash Brake, or otherwise out in the SN postcode area.
If the check writes cleaning out, there is no charge to pay for it. What still stands is the call-out charge, since the visit happened, the check was done and the advice was passed on.
A 30-day warranty covers aftercare on the clean, and that includes an engineer coming back out to The Rectangle if the light reappears inside the time.

Vehicles we clean, and where we reach round The Rectangle
Whatever it is — estate, panel van, light commercial, lorry, plant, construction machinery, agricultural vehicle — the same on-site service applies, and the filter never departs it.
The Rectangle is hardly ever a special trip: engineers are along Burne Jones Avenue nearly every week, and the same run takes in Ash Brake, St Andrews Ridge and the places out past Blunsdon St Andrew. Coverage is UK-wide, so even further out around Wiltshire is nonetheless worth a ring, and what decides between today and tomorrow is the schedule rather than the distance.

Frequent questions on DPF cleaning in The Rectangle
- Is a long drive enough alone?
- If you get it in time, and the vehicle is not in limp mode, sometimes. Fifteen minutes to Lidl and back will not manage it; motorway speed, held for some time, will.
- How long does the visit take?
- Count on typically around 2 hours, with a second clean lengthening that where the filter is heavily blocked.
- What does it come to across The Rectangle?
- Treatment begins from £299, and the call-out charge on top pays for the visit, the check and the advice. Both the vehicle and where you are change it, which is why quoting is done by phone.
- Is it needed for me to be present?
- The car needs a spot for two hours or so. You do not need to be in it. Choosing to be there is no problem: the regeneration then runs out on the move, monitored.
- How soon can someone travel to The Rectangle?
- That comes down to the calendar, but it is often same-day or next-day. One call to 0303 330 1830 and you will learn what the SN area has free.
- Is the filter removed from the motor?
- On the on-site service, no: the filter is treated in place. We never lift filters off or put them back on, whichever way.
- And if the light reappears?
- An engineer travels back out to The Rectangle — the 30-day warranty takes in aftercare.
