Next, a regeneration drives off everything the clean lifted. If you are there, that is carried out as a monitored drive out of The Folly; if not, statically where the car sits, with the running data verified once done.
Both sets of figures are sent by email, so the figures from either end are kept. The second scan is what proves the change, puts out the light and lists whatever is still outstanding.
When a DPF clean is not the solution
Treatment answers one thing: a filter choked with soot and ash. It does little for:
- the wrong figure from a temperature sensor
- EGR valves that hang open
- the AdBlue system playing up
- a regeneration that simply never completes, because of glow plugs or injectors
- a turbo passing oil through the filter
