Belated news, the light. The symptoms tend to grow for some time before it appears:
- power tailing off, especially pulling uphill
- revs that will not rise the way they used to
- fuel use that is worse than it used to be
- the stop/start silently bowing out
- smoke under hard acceleration, or a diesel smell inside
Alone, none of that is proof. With the light alongside them, the filter is a fair assumption.
The reason diesel particulate filters clog near Strath Garve
