Signs the vehicle has been sending you
Symptoms have generally been mounting for some time before the light even arrives. Belated news, in other words:
- power dropping away, above all pulling uphill
- revs that will not climb the way they always did
- fuel economy turning worse
- the stop/start without a word packing in
- the cabin reeking of diesel, or smoke when you pull away
That is not evidence alone. With the light with them, the filter is a fair guess.
Why diesel particulate filters clog near Strand
