Mobile DPF Cleaning covering Stanway, Gloucestershire
With mobile DPF cleaning, we travel to the vehicle. A technician turns up at your door across Stanway, cleans the diesel particulate filter while it is still on the vehicle, performs a DPF regeneration, and you end up with the filter you came with.
The visit runs typically around 2 hours, the clean starts from £299, and the number is settled over the phone before anyone leaves.
The light is on already and the motor is short of power — that is how we generally meet people, and roughly what this page covers.
Your DPF light is on — what now?
First thing: it is not automatically the filter. A scan comes before all work, because that same panel light has several possible faults behind it.
Second thing: how you handle it between now and then matters.
- Amber light, vehicle yet driving fine — a long even run can still shift it by itself. Costs zero, and worth a try before you call anything.
- Once the motor is in limp mode, driving will not touch it. The window has gone.
- Get it seen to rather than using it — diesel in the cabin, or smoke on hard acceleration, has gone beyond the long-run stage.
Before the light, what the motor was showing you
The light is late news. By the time it shows, the symptoms have generally been mounting for some time:
- falling off on power, particularly uphill
- you find the revs fall short of where they used to go
- fuel use turning worse
- stop/start silently bowing out
- the interior reeking of diesel, or smoke when you accelerate
That is not proof by itself. Next to the light beside them, the filter is a fair guess.
Why diesel particulate filters block round Stanway
The driving that comes with a rural hamlet like Stanway is the least kind type for a DPF. The school run to Isbourne Valley School, Didbrook Road at a standstill at half eight, a few minutes to Teal Products Ltd, the dash to Evesham — none of it lasts long enough or runs hot enough for the filter to complete a regeneration. The soot that should clear builds up instead.
Neither is distant from Stanway: under 10 miles to the M5, under 25 miles to Gloucester. Neither is on the way to anywhere most weeks, though, so the drive that would clear a filter simply never happens.
DPF regeneration, and the stage limp mode ends it
What limp mode comes down to is the car defending itself. A long drive works by triggering a regeneration, and that is exactly what limp mode prevents: power capped, revs kept low, no regeneration on offer.
The common advice — get it up the motorway — is sound, until it is not. Once the vehicle is in limp mode you are past that point, and the filter wants cleaning rather than driving.
Mobile DPF cleaning where the car stands across Stanway
On your driveway, in a work car park, any place the car can wait for a few hours: the job is done with the filter still bolted on, which is the part most owners do not anticipate.
First a scan. Live ECU data, the soot load as a percentage and as a mass, the sensor readings, the glow plugs, the related parts — all of it read before a thing is started.
Soot and ash that a regeneration alone will never move are loosened second, by a cleaning fluid put through the access point on that car, which spreads inside the filter. Heavily blocked filters sometimes need a second pass.
A regeneration is next, burning off what the clean has freed. Either it runs as a monitored drive out of Stanway, with you there, or it runs where the vehicle waits and the running data is verified once done.
Both reports go over by email, so the figures from either end are recorded. The second check is what proves the change, puts out the light and lists whatever is still outstanding.
When a DPF clean is not the solution
Only one fault is answered by a clean: the filter clogged with ash and soot. It does little for:
- the wrong reading from a pressure or temperature sensor
- EGR valves that jam open
- AdBlue system problems
- glow plugs or injectors preventing the regeneration starting whatsoever
- the turbo pushing oil into the filter
Which is why the diagnostic happens first. Proving to be one of them means hearing it before any work gets going, not after handing over for it.
DPF renewal is what people look up, but no part is swapped: the filter you already own is treated where it sits and sent back into service. Nor is having it hollowed out a solution, since the MOT then fails and driving becomes an offence. Two more things worth knowing.
What DPF cleaning runs to across Stanway
The treatment opens from £299. A call-out charge is added to every visit, and takes in the call-out itself, the booking, the diagnostic and the advice that comes with it.
Once we are told what you own, and broadly what the filter will need, the number gets agreed over phone. A single price for every job would not be straight. What you own and where you are both move it: Stanway itself, over at Stumps Cross, or otherwise out in the GL postcode area.
A clean that will not help is not cleaning you pay for, and the diagnostic is what says so. Because the visit, the scan and the advice have been done, the call-out charge nonetheless applies.
The work includes a 30-day warranty taking in aftercare, including an engineer heading back out to Stanway if the light returns inside that window.
I thought overall it was a good job. Helpful people over the phone, had a quick response and the job was done well.
Your engineer Attila was a delight to meet, friendly and courteous. He explained every step and showed me all relevant information during the procedure. Highly recommended.
Dave was great and really knowledgeable, was polite enough to call me letting me know his arrival time. He cleaned my dpf in about an hour and even gave me some advice on further maintenance on my BMW. Thanks Dave.
Vehicles we clean, and where we travel near Stanway
The filter is treated on the vehicle on all of them: private cars, panel vans and light commercials, HGVs and lorries, plant and construction machinery, farm vehicles. Nothing is moved anywhere.
Engineers are along Didbrook Road most weeks, so Stanway is hardly ever a journey of its own, and the same run covers Stumps Cross, Hailes and the places out past New Town. Phone anyway from even further out through Gloucestershire. Coverage runs UK-wide, and the slot you get comes down to the diary rather than how far away you are.

Things Stanway drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Can I just take it for a long drive?
- Quickly enough, and with the motor out of limp mode, yes — sometimes. Ten minutes to Teal Products Ltd and back will not do it; motorway speed, held for a stretch, will.
- Roughly how long does it run?
- Allow typically around 2 hours — badly blocked filters sometimes need a second pass, which extends it.
- How much does it come to in Stanway?
- Cleaning begins from £299, and the call-out charge on top pays for the visit, the scan and the advice. We quote on the phone, because the vehicle and your address both move the price.
- Do I have to be present?
- You need not stand with it — the motor only needs a spot to wait for a couple of hours. The regeneration can be done as a supervised drive if you would sooner come along.
- Getting to Stanway — how soon?
- That comes down to the calendar, but it is often same-day or next-day. One phone call to 0303 330 1830 and you will know what the GL area has available.
- The filter — does it come off the car?
- Not on the on-site service — it is done where it is. And neither does taking a filter off nor putting one back on is work we do.
- What if the light comes back?
- Aftercare falls inside the 30-day warranty, and that includes an engineer coming back to Stanway.
