Mobile DPF Cleaning across Southcrest, Worcestershire
On-site DPF cleaning goes to the car. A fitter arrives at your door over in Southcrest, clears the diesel particulate filter while it is attached to the vehicle, performs a DPF regeneration, and you end up with the filter you arrived with.
Allow for the visit running typically around 2 hours. The clean opens from £299, agreed over the phone before anyone sets off.
Most owners find us with the light showing, and the motor low on power. That is the position this page is aimed at.
Your DPF light is showing — what next?
Not the DPF, automatically. Opening thing to note. Treatment is not where a visit opens. A check is — several faults register as the same light.
How the vehicle is driven in the meantime counts too.
- Worth a shot before you call anything: amber light, vehicle driving normally, just one even run, no outlay.
- That window has gone once the vehicle has dropped into limp mode. Motoring will not get there now.
- Stop booking long drives and get it checked if the cabin stinks of diesel or there is black smoke when you pull away.
Signs the motor has been sending you
Last news, the light. The symptoms tend to build for weeks before it shows:
- less power, particularly pulling uphill
- revs that will not climb the way they once did
- the fuel consumption is worse
- quietly, the stop/start bows out
- smoke under the throttle, or a diesel smell in the car
Any one of those, taken by itself, is not conclusive. It is a fair assumption the filter is full once the light is showing too.
Clogged diesel particulate filters around Southcrest, and the reason
For a DPF, the least kind use is the sort you get in a residential suburb such as Southcrest. The school run to St Luke's CofE First School, Ivor Road at a crawl at the morning rush, five minutes to Al-waris, the dash to Redditch — nothing of it runs long enough or is hot enough for the filter to see through a regeneration. Unburnt soot that should clear collects instead.
Except when you have a standing cause to head out to the M42, under 5 miles from Southcrest, or out to Birmingham under 15 miles away, entire weeks pass without a sustained run. Geography is unhelpful.
DPF regeneration, and the point limp mode ends it
It is self-preservation: that is all limp mode is. With output capped and the revs kept low, the regeneration the filter needs can never complete at all. That tells, because triggering one is just what a long run does.
So the common advice to get it up the motorway is good advice, right until it is not. The filter wants a clean rather than driving once the car has gone into limp mode.
On-site DPF cleaning where the motor stands round Southcrest
Nothing comes off the car. That surprises people. The DPF remains fixed where it is and the work happens around it, on a drive, in a works car park, wherever it can stand for a couple of hours.
First a scan. Live ECU data, the soot load as a percentage and as a figure, the sensors, the glow plugs, the associated components — all of it logged before a thing is cleaned.
Soot and ash that a regeneration on its own will never move are freed next, by a solution passed through the entry point on that motor, which expands inside the filter. A second pass is sometimes required on heavily loaded filters.
A regeneration comes next, driving off what the clean has loosened. If you are there, that is run as a monitored drive out of Southcrest; if not, on the spot where the motor sits, with the real-time data read once done.
Then a second check, confirming the change, putting out the warning light and listing anything still logged. Both reports are emailed, so the before and after figures are recorded.
When a DPF clean is not the fix
One thing is what a clean fixes — a filter blocked with soot and ash. It does no good for:
- a pressure sensor showing a restriction that is not there
- the EGR valve stuck open
- AdBlue system failures
- a regeneration that hardly ever runs, because of glow plugs or injectors
- oil passing through the filter from a faulty turbo
Finding that out is the first scan's whole job. You are let know before any work gets going, not after you have paid, should it turns out to be one of those.
Lastly, two things. A vehicle with the filter cut out cannot pass its MOT, and driving it is an offence, so that is no solution. What gets looked up as DPF renewal swaps nothing: your existing filter is cleaned in place and goes back into service.
DPF cleaning costs across Southcrest
Every visit carries a call-out charge — travelling to you, taking the booking, carrying out the diagnostic and offering the advice. The clean itself starts from £299.
No single flat rate would be truthful, so the figure is agreed on the phone once we have the vehicle and what the filter is likely to need. A pair of things move it: what you drive, and where you are — Southcrest itself, across at Redditch, or further out across the B postcode area.
A clean that will not help is not cleaning you pay for, and the check is what says so. Because the visit, the diagnostic and the advice have been done, the call-out charge still applies.
A 30-day warranty takes in aftercare on the work, and that includes an engineer coming back out to Southcrest if the light comes back inside the time.
Huge thank you to Carolina and Andras for an exceptionally efficient and prompt service. 4 hours from the time I placed my initial call to the DPF being cleaned. We'll definitely be using you again.
I thought overall it was a good job. Helpful people over the phone, had a quick response and the job was done well.
Highly recommend DPF fixer, Jason done excellent job, informed us what he was doing, throughout job and told us what all the readings was when he finished. If u need a DPF clean these are ones to call. Super fast service and good price too.
What we clean, and how far we travel round Southcrest
Cars, vans of any size and light commercials, HGVs and lorries, plant machinery, agricultural vehicles — one mobile service across all of them, and on all of them the filter is treated in place rather than carried anywhere.
Technicians are along Ivor Road most weeks, so Southcrest is seldom a journey of its own, and the same run picks up Redditch, Lodge Park and the places out past Bordesley. Coverage is UK-wide, so farther out across Worcestershire is even so worth a call, and what settles between today and tomorrow is the schedule rather than the distance.

What Southcrest drivers want to know about DPF cleaning
- Is a long drive enough alone?
- Soon enough, and with the motor out of limp mode, yes — sometimes. A steady run at motorway speed is what it takes — not fifteen minutes flat to Al-waris and back.
- The visit takes how long?
- It is typically around 2 hours. A heavily loaded filter can take a second clean, which lengthens that.
- Price around Southcrest — what is it?
- It opens from £299, plus the call-out charge taking in the visit, the diagnostic and the advice. Quoting is done by phone, since what you own and where you live both change the price.
- Must I be present in person?
- Nobody expects you to stand with it — the vehicle simply requires somewhere to wait for a couple of hours. Choosing to be there is no problem: the regeneration then is done out on the road, monitored.
- Coming to Southcrest — how soon?
- You are offered often same-day or next-day, though it depends what is already in the schedule. One call to 0303 330 1830 and you will know what the B area has free.
- The filter — does it leave the motor?
- On the mobile service, no: the filter is cleaned in place. We do not lift filters off or bolt them back on, either way.
- And if the light returns?
- An engineer travels back out to Southcrest — the 30-day warranty includes aftercare.
