- Once the motor is in limp mode, a long run will not reach it. The window has shut.
- A diesel smell in the car, or black smoke under the throttle, is the moment to stop arranging long drives and call.
Signs the motor has been sending you
Belated news, the light. The symptoms generally grow for weeks before it appears:
- tailing off on power, above all uphill
- you notice the revs never reach where they always went
- fuel economy getting worse
- stop/start quietly bowing out
- diesel in the interior, or smoke on the way up through the box
Alone, none of that is conclusive. Alongside the light with them, the filter is a fair bet.
Why diesel particulate filters block around Sexhow
Sexhow is a rural hamlet, and the driving that comes with one is the poorest type for a DPF.
