The motor has been showing you already
Belated news, the light. The symptoms generally grow for a while before it arrives:
- pulling uphill, the power tails off
- an engine whose revs will not rise as before
- consumption that is worse than before
- stop/start quietly bowing out
- a diesel smell in the interior, or smoke under the throttle
Any one of those, taken singly, is not evidence. Next to the light, it is a fair guess the filter is full.
What blocks diesel particulate filters round Sandhoe
