Mobile DPF Cleaning around Runham and Norfolk
The motor sits in place — mobile DPF cleaning goes to it. The technician arrives at your address across Runham and gets to work. The diesel particulate filter is treated on the motor, a DPF regeneration runs after it, and you keep the filter you started with.
You'll have a price by phone before anyone goes, the clean starting from £299, and the visit lasting typically around 2 hours.
If the light is already on and the motor is low on power, this page is for you. That is how most people arrive here.
The DPF light is on. What next?
It may not be the DPF whatsoever. That is the opening thing. Plenty of faults put the identical light on the identical dash, which is why a visit opens with a diagnostic rather than with treatment.
The driving you get in the meantime tells. That is the other thing.
- Vehicle yet driving as normal on an amber light — have a go at a long even run first. It costs zero and often clears the filter without assistance.
- That window has gone once the vehicle has slipped into limp mode. Driving will not help now.
- Get it looked at rather than driving it — diesel in the car, or smoke on the throttle, has gone beyond the long-run stage.
What the motor has been telling you
Last news, the light. The symptoms usually build for some time before it appears:
- less power, above all going uphill
- the revs no longer climb the way they used to
- worse fuel use
- stop/start silently giving up
- a diesel smell in the car, or smoke under acceleration
That is not evidence by itself. With the light, it is a fair bet the filter is loaded.
What chokes diesel particulate filters round Runham
For a DPF, the poorest driving is the sort you meet around a rural village such as Runham. The school run to Filby Primary School, Low Road at a standstill at half eight, ten minutes to Lidl, the hop to Berney Arms — not one bit of it goes on long enough or is hot enough for the filter to see through a regeneration. The soot that should burn away builds up instead.
Neither is far from Runham: over 50 miles to the M11, under 15 miles to Norwich. Neither is on the way to anything most weeks, though, so the journey that would scour a filter simply never gets made.
DPF regeneration, and the stage limp mode kills it
Limp mode is the vehicle protecting itself. Power is held down, the revs will not climb, and the regeneration the filter wants can not happen — which is the whole problem, because a sustained drive works by setting off that regeneration.
Getting it up the motorway is the standard advice, and it works up to a limit. Past that stage — limp mode — road work will not do it, and the filter needs cleaning.
DPF cleaning at the car in Runham
On your driveway, in a work car park, wherever the motor can wait for a couple of hours: the job takes place with the filter even now fitted on, which is the detail most owners do not see coming.
A check goes first — running data off the ECU, soot load by percentage and by weight, and a check of the sensors, glow plugs and related hardware, so other faults are eliminated before anything is cleaned.
Then the treatment. A solution is fed in through the access point on that motor and opens out inside the filter, lifting the soot and ash a regeneration alone will never move. Badly loaded filters sometimes need a second pass.
Then a regeneration, to clear what the clean has lifted. That is a monitored drive out of Runham if you are along, or a static regeneration where the car waits, with the running data checked after.
Finally the check runs again — the change verified, the light put out, anything still showing noted. Both reports arrive with you by email, so the numbers are on record.
The failures a DPF clean cannot answer
One thing is what cleaning cures — a filter blocked with soot and ash. It does no good for:
- the wrong figure from a temperature sensor
- the EGR valve jammed open
- an AdBlue system fault
- a regeneration that hardly ever starts, because of glow plugs or injectors
- turbo trouble, with oil getting into the filter
Finding that out is the first diagnostic's whole job. Proving to be one of them means hearing it before the work gets going, not after paying a penny.
DPF renewal is what people search for, but no part is swapped: the filter you have is cleaned where it sits and sent back into service. Nor is having it gutted a solution, since the MOT then fails and driving becomes illegal. Two more things worth bearing in mind.
The figure of DPF cleaning in Runham
The treatment begins from £299. A call-out charge applies to every visit, and takes in the call-out itself, the booking, the diagnostic and the advice that goes with it.
Publishing a flat rate would not be truthful. We fix it on the phone, once the motor and its expected needs are known. The car changes it, and so does the postcode — Runham, Mautby, or somewhere further out in the NR postcode area.
Where the diagnostic says treatment will not do it, you are not asked to pay for a clean. Because the visit, the scan and the advice have happened, the call-out charge still applies.
The job carries a 30-day warranty covering aftercare, including an engineer travelling back out to Runham if the light reappears inside that window.
I would like to thank dpf for a good and prompt service. Especially igor who came across very professional and polite while doing the job. He also checked everything before he left to see if there were any other issues. We'll done igor highly recommended.
Very happy with the DPF clean car was well clogged up and not running correctly but now running perfectly, very happy.
Liam has done a great job. All things fully explained and good feedback. Your company has been excellent from the initial phone call. Will definitely recommend you to others.
Vehicles we clean, and where we reach round Runham
Cars, vans and light commercials, HGVs, plant machinery, agricultural machinery — the one on-site service across all of them, and on all of them the filter is cleaned where it sits rather than carried anywhere.
Engineers are along Low Road week in week out, so Runham is rarely a detour, and the same run picks up Mautby, West End and the places out past Stokesby. Coverage reaches UK-wide, so further out through Norfolk is nonetheless worth a call, and what decides between today and tomorrow is the schedule rather than the distance.

What Runham drivers want to know about DPF cleaning
- Is a long drive enough on its own?
- If you spot it early, and the car is not in limp mode, sometimes. Ten minutes to Lidl and back will not be enough; motorway speed, kept for some time, will.
- The visit lasts how long?
- That is typically around 2 hours, though a heavily clogged filter can need cleaning twice, which takes longer.
- What does it come to around Runham?
- The call-out charge covers the visit, the scan and the advice; the clean itself begins from £299. The vehicle and your address both move the figure, so we price on the phone.
- Is it necessary for me to be present?
- No. The motor wants a spot to sit for a couple of hours; you do not need to stand with it. The regeneration can be done as a supervised drive if you would sooner be there.
- When can someone come to Runham?
- Depending on the diary, often same-day or next-day is typical. Phone 0303 330 1830 and we will say to you what is free across the NR area.
- Does the filter come off the car?
- It is done where it is, on the mobile service. We will not take filters off or fit them back on, either way.
- And if the light returns?
- Included by the 30-day warranty: aftercare, and an engineer travelling back to Runham.
