- falling off on power, especially uphill
- an engine whose revs will not climb as they should
- fuel use going worse
- a stop/start that has quietly given up
- a diesel smell in the interior, or smoke under the throttle
That is not proof alone. With the light, it is a fair bet the filter is blocked.
The reason diesel particulate filters clog near Rift House
