- less power, especially going uphill
- the revs no longer climb the way they always did
- fuel use getting worse
- the stop/start quietly bowing out
- the interior smelling of diesel, or smoke when you press on
Alone, none of that is proof. It is a fair assumption the filter is loaded once the light is on as well.
