Mobile DPF Cleaning in Rearquhar and Highland
With call-out DPF cleaning, we drive out to the car. Your motor isn't taken off and the filter doesn't budge. A fitter arrives at your door over in Rearquhar, treats the diesel particulate filter fitted to the vehicle and carries out a DPF regeneration.
Nobody leaves until the number is settled on the phone. The visit runs typically around 2 hours and the clean starts from £299.
Most people find us with the light already on, and the vehicle low on power. That is the position this page is aimed at.
The DPF light is on. What then?
The unit is not necessarily what is wrong, and that leads. Cleaning is not where a visit starts. A scan is — a number of faults appear as the same warning.
How the car is handled in the meantime counts too.
- Worth a shot before you call anything: amber light, motor driving fine, just one constant run, no outlay.
- Once the vehicle is in limp mode, a long run will not reach it. The window has closed.
- Get it seen to rather than using it — diesel in the car, or smoke on the throttle, has gone beyond the long-run stage.
Signs the vehicle has been giving you
The light is last news. By the time it shows, the symptoms have usually been building for weeks:
- power tailing off, above all pulling uphill
- the revs no longer pull the way they used to
- worse fuel consumption
- silently, the stop/start packs in
- diesel in the car, or smoke on the way up through the gearbox
That is not conclusive alone. It is a fair guess the filter is loaded once the light is showing too.
Why diesel particulate filters block near Rearquhar
Rearquhar is an area, and the motoring that belongs to one is the least kind type for a DPF. The school run to the local primary school, Ardshave Road at a crawl at the morning rush, five minutes to Co-op Food, the hop to Rogart — not one bit of it lasts long enough or gets hot enough for the filter to see through a regeneration. What should burn off stays put.
Neither is a long way from Rearquhar: over 50 miles to the M90, under 50 miles to Inverness. Neither is on the way to much most weeks, though, so the journey that would clear a filter hardly ever happens.
Why limp mode blocks a DPF regeneration
It is self-defence: that is all limp mode is. A sustained drive works by setting off a regeneration, and that is just what limp mode blocks: power limited, revs kept low, no regeneration possible.
The usual advice — run it up the motorway — is sound, up until it is not. Beyond that line — limp mode — driving will not be enough, and the filter needs a clean.
Call-out DPF cleaning where the car stands in Rearquhar
Most owners do not see coming this part: the filter stays on. The job happens with the DPF yet fixed to the motor — on your front, in a work car park, any place the car can stand for a while.
Nothing is started until other faults are eliminated. That involves a check first: real-time data off the ECU, soot load by percentage and by weight, and a review of the sensor readings, glow plugs and associated hardware.
Then the cleaning. A solution is fed in through the entry point on that motor and opens out inside the filter, freeing the soot and ash a regeneration alone will never move. Severely clogged filters sometimes take a second pass.
A regeneration is next, clearing what the clean has lifted. Either it runs as a monitored drive out of Rearquhar, with you there, or it is done where the vehicle stands and the real-time data is verified afterwards.
Both read-outs are sent by email, so the figures from either end are on record. The second check is what verifies the change, resets the light and notes whatever is still open.
What a DPF clean will not fix
One thing is what a clean fixes — a filter choked with soot and ash. It does little for:
- the wrong figure from a temperature sensor
- the EGR valve held open
- a problem in the AdBlue system
- faulty glow plugs or injectors, so no regeneration ever runs
- oil passing through the filter from a faulty turbo
Which is why the check happens first. When one of those turns out to be the fault, you hear about it in advance rather than once the money has changed hands already.
Lastly, two things. A vehicle with the filter gutted will fail its MOT, and driving it is an offence, so that is no remedy. What gets looked up as DPF renewal exchanges nothing: your existing filter is cleared in place and goes back into work.
What DPF cleaning comes to around Rearquhar
The clean opens from £299. A call-out charge applies to every visit, and pays for the call-out itself, the booking, the diagnostic and the advice that follows.
The price is settled on the phone, once we are told the vehicle and what the filter is likely to need. No flat rate could be honest. The place you are counts as much as what you own: Rearquhar itself, Lednabirichen next door, or further out in the IV postcode area.
If the check counts treatment out, there is nothing to pay for it. Because the visit, the scan and the advice have taken place, the call-out charge nonetheless stands.
A 30-day warranty takes in aftercare on the clean, and that includes an engineer heading back out to Rearquhar if the light reappears inside the time.
Came within the time specified. Done the job as requested and provided much needed advice on what the car needs going forward. I will definitely recommend to anyone.
Very pleased a very quick response and. NIC was very knowledgeable and very pleasant thank you to all at DPF fix it.
Just had James to see to my car, great guy, and really a credit to Dpf Fixers. A go to company. A go to Guy.
The vehicles we clean and the ground we cover near Rearquhar
Whatever it is — private car, panel van, light commercial, lorry, plant, construction machinery, agricultural machine — the very same on-site service applies, and the filter never departs it.
The same trip that puts technicians on Ardshave Road most weeks takes in Rearquhar, Lednabirichen, Birichen and the places beyond Camore. Coverage is UK-wide, so farther out across Highland is nonetheless worth a phone call, and what picks between today and tomorrow is the calendar rather than the distance.

Things Rearquhar drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Will a long drive clear it?
- It can, provided you spot it in time and limp mode has not begun. Five minutes to Co-op Food and back will not manage it; motorway speed, kept for a stretch, will.
- Broadly how long does it last?
- It is typically around 2 hours. A badly clogged filter can need a second clean, which adds to that.
- Cost around Rearquhar — what is it?
- Opening from £299, with a charge for coming out that covers the check and advice on what to do next. The vehicle and your address both change the price, so we price on the phone.
- Is it necessary for me to be around?
- You do not need to stand with it — the motor only needs space to wait for a couple of hours. Travel along if you like, and the regeneration turns into a watched drive.
- Getting to Rearquhar — how soon?
- It is often same-day or next-day, depending on what is already in the diary. Phone 0303 330 1830 and we will say to you what is open across the IV area.
- Is the filter removed from the motor?
- Cleaned where it stands, on this service, so no. Neither lifting a filter off nor fitting one back on is work we do.
- What if the light reappears?
- The 30-day warranty takes in aftercare, including an engineer returning to Rearquhar.
