What the motor has been showing you
Symptoms have generally been growing for some time before the light even arrives. Late news, in other words:
- going uphill, the power falls off
- the revs no longer rise the way they always did
- worse fuel economy
- a stop/start that has meekly packed in
- the cabin smelling of diesel, or smoke when you press on
That is not conclusive by itself. The light beside them indicates a loaded filter.
Blocked diesel particulate filters around Raughton, and the cause
