Mobile DPF Cleaning for Rannoch, Perth and Kinross

The workshop effectively moves to your address over in Rannoch, and the motor remains where it is.

The technician pulls up with the equipment in the van and gets to work where the car is. The DPF remains fitted, it's treated and regenerated on the motor, and once the job's done your motor is ready to use. Budget for about a couple of hours. Figures open from £299, and you'll have fixed the figure over the phone well before a soul sets off.

What a mobile DPF cleaning visit across Rannoch looks like

The mobile unit wants somewhere to park and an engine that will run periodically.

Past that, the visit looks after itself:

  1. A percentage and a soot weight come off the ECU first, together with a look at the associated hardware, sensor readings and glow-plug circuit, ahead of anything being started.
  2. Then the cleaning fluid is fed in at the car's injection point and opens out inside the DPF, freeing the soot and ash that a regeneration would never have moved on its own.
  3. A regeneration then clears whatever the clean has loosened. That'll happen on the spot, or out on a monitored drive around Rannoch if you fancy coming along.
  4. You see the light go out and the difference confirmed, with whatever is outstanding written down for you.

Emailed over once the second scan is done, both sets of readings go on file.

Where the work can happen near Rannoch

Anywhere you can leave it and go for the duration.

Which generally means one of these:

  • Your own drive in Rannoch
  • A company car park
  • A spare corner of a forecourt
  • A space off
  • The the local shops car park round the corner, while you do something else

You're free to walk off and leave it, and nothing comes off the motor while you're gone.

Diesel particulate filters around Rannoch, and what chokes them

Short cold stop-start journeys are what a DPF manages worst, and a rural hamlet like Rannoch produces little else. The filter wants heat and it wants time, and gets neither. Driving to the local primary school, crawling on B846 before nine, popping to the local shops, hopping to the nearest station — nothing there lasts long enough or climbs hot enough to see through a burn cycle.

Geography worsens it. The M9 lies under 50 miles from Rannoch and Stirling lies under 50 miles away, so unless you have a standing need to take that drive, whole weeks pass without the long steady journey that would scour the filter on its own.

You'll almost certainly have noticed something already. A hint of diesel inside, dark smoke when you pull away, power falling off, revs that won't climb, worse consumption, and stop/start giving up without a word. That builds for a while before the light shows.

What will mobile DPF cleaning not fix?

A single fault is cured by a treatment: the filter blocked with ash and soot. You should not take it the light means the DPF, and the check answers the question ahead of any work on the vehicle.

A clean will not fix:

  • Your car being told there is a block when there is not one
  • An EGR valve held open
  • A urea system failure
  • Plugs or injectors that prevent the regeneration completing
  • Oil coming into the DPF from a failing turbo

If it is found to be one of those, you'll know it prior to any work starting — not once you've settled up.

You can't escape it by having the filter hollowed out, either — that's an MOT refusal and it's an offence to drive. And nothing gets replaced: what people look up as DPF renewal is your own filter, treated in place and put back to work.

Will a long run clear it on its own?

A filter only beginning to fill will often sort itself without anyone touching it. Let it under 50 miles out of Rannoch to the M9 and sit at it there, or take the long way into Stirling rather than ten more minutes to Kinlochmore.

Cleaning where it stands becomes the sensible next thing once the light is on and limp mode has kicked in, because a long run will no longer shift it.

What mobile DPF cleaning works out at in Rannoch

You are starting at from £299 for on-site DPF treatment. You also pay a call-out on each visit. It takes in the travel, the booking, the diagnostic and the steer you are offered.

No fixed price would be straight, so the figure is settled by phone once we have the car and what the DPF is going to need. Two things settle the quote: what you own, and whereabouts you are — Rannoch itself, out by Killichonan, or elsewhere in the PH postcode area. It is fixed ahead of a soul travelling.

A 30-day warranty covers the work, aftercare included. An engineer comes back to Rannoch should the DPF dash light reappear within that window.

Whatever you drive, we treat its DPF round Rannoch

All of these receive the same on-site visit:

  • Cars of every make
  • Light goods vehicles and car-derived vans
  • HGVs
  • Site plant and site machinery
  • Agricultural vehicles and machinery

The DPF is cleaned in place on every one, at your place across in Rannoch rather than at a workshop of ours.

You will want the other route if the car will not start at all: the filter comes off, goes to our own workshop by courier, and is cleaned within a day of arrival. We do not take off or refit units for both services.

Recently had the DPF cleaned by Liam. Good communication throughout, and he clearly answered all questions. The van is now up and running nicely.

Timely fix, effective and affable. Engine amber warning light on again this morning but my local garage able to reset it. Just quite expensive. Thanks.

The technician Zoltan provided excellent service when he came to clean my filter, he answered any questions I had about the procedure and kept me informed as the job progressed, I would highly recommend dpf fixer.

The PH area and Rannoch: where we work

Killichonan, Pubil, and the smaller places over past Kinlochmore and Kinlochleven all sit on the same trip as Rannoch, and our engineers are along B846 most weeks.

Beyond that across Perth and Kinross, the call is nonetheless worth placing. Coverage extends UK-wide; what settles whether it is today or tomorrow is the local diary rather than the journey.

Mobile DPF cleaning around Rannoch: frequent questions

How long am I without the motor?

A couple of hours or so, unless the filter's badly loaded and has to be cleaned twice.

How much will call-out DPF cleaning cost me around Rannoch?

On top of a price beginning from £299, the journey, the diagnostic and the advice are paid for by a call-out charge. You'll have the figure over the phone, because what you drive and where you are both move it.

Do you travel to my home or my office?

Both, anywhere across Rannoch or the surrounding Perth and Kinross area. The filter doesn't leave the car — it's cleaned exactly where the car is parked.

Can you make it to Rannoch today?

What is already booked settles it, but same-day and next-day are common. What is open across the PH patch is something we can tell you the moment you call 0303 330 1830.

Is there anything to pay if it proves not to be the unit?

The call-out charge stands either way, because the call-out, the scan and the guidance have all happened. What you will not see is a bill for cleaning that never happened.

The DPF light shows again — what then?

The 30-day warranty covers aftercare, including an engineer driving back to Rannoch.

How long will the clean hold up?

That depends on how the car is driven afterwards. Out towards Stirling, or along the M9, is worth far more to the unit than short hops around Killichonan and back.
