Mobile DPF Cleaning for Pollo, Highland
Mobile DPF cleaning comes to the motor. The engineer pulls up at your place in Pollo and starts. The diesel particulate filter is treated fitted to the car, a DPF regeneration follows, and you hold on to the filter you came with.
You'll be given a number by phone before anyone leaves, the clean opening from £299, and the visit running typically around 2 hours.
If the light is on already and the motor is low on power, this page is yours. That is how most drivers arrive here.
Your DPF light is on — what then?
Not the unit, always. Main thing to get straight. A scan comes before all treatment, because that same dash light has several likely faults behind it.
It tells what you get with the car between now and the visit.
- Amber light, car even now driving normally — a long steady run can even now sort it on its own. Costs nothing at all, and worth attempting before you call anything.
- Once the car is in limp mode, motoring will not touch it. The window has closed.
- Stop arranging long drives and get it seen to if the interior stinks of diesel or there is black smoke when you press on.
Before the light, what the vehicle was telling you
The light is late news. By the time it arrives, the symptoms have usually been mounting for weeks:
- dropping away on power, above all uphill
- you see the revs fall short of where they always went
- the fuel economy is down
- a stop/start that has silently packed in
- smoke under hard acceleration, or a diesel smell in the car
None of that is evidence alone. The light beside them indicates a full filter.
What chokes diesel particulate filters near Pollo
Pollo is a coastal area, and the motoring that goes with one is the poorest sort for a DPF. A regeneration wants long enough and heat, and gets none: not on the school run to the local primary school, not on Sutor View at half past eight, not on ten minutes to Co-op Food, and not on the dash to Invergordon. What should burn off stays put.
The M90 sits over 50 miles from Pollo, Inverness under 25 miles away, and unless something pulls you out that way routinely, entire weeks go by without the long unbroken run that empties a DPF. Geography does not oblige.
Limp mode, and when DPF regeneration stops
It is self-defence: that is all limp mode amounts to. The whole catch is that a long drive works by starting a regeneration, and in limp mode the revs will not rise and power is limited.
Good advice, that motorway run — until the point it is not. The filter needs a clean rather than more driving once the vehicle has slipped into limp mode.
Where the motor stands is where the DPF is cleaned across Pollo
Nothing is taken from the motor. That throws people. The DPF stays fixed where it is and the work happens around it, on a forecourt, in a works car park, any place it can wait for a few hours.
The ECU is read first, showing soot load by percent and by mass, along with a review of sensor readings, glow plugs and related hardware, so nothing is cleaned while another fault is still possible.
Next comes the clean itself: a cleaning solution in through the motor's own access port, opening out inside the filter and loosening what a regeneration never can. Where the filter is heavily clogged, expect a second pass.
What the clean has loosened is then burned off by a regeneration. Stay with the vehicle and it turns into a monitored drive out of Pollo. Park it and the regeneration goes statically, with running data verified once it is done.
A second scan verifies the change, resets the warning light and logs anything still open. Both read-outs are sent over, so you have the before and after figures on record.
When a DPF clean is not the answer
A filter choked with soot and ash is the one thing cleaning fixes. It will not touch:
- sensors, pressure, reporting a block that is not real
- EGR valves that hang open
- a problem in the AdBlue system
- glow plugs or injectors blocking the regeneration starting whatsoever
- turbo problems, with oil entering the filter
That is what the first scan is for. Turning out to be one of them means finding out it before the work gets going, not after settling up anything.
Two more worth noting. Having the filter hollowed out is not a remedy — a vehicle without a functioning DPF will fail its MOT and driving it is an offence. And cleaning is sometimes looked up as DPF renewal: nothing is swapped, your original filter is cleaned in place and returned into use.
Costs for DPF cleaning across Pollo
Every visit carries a call-out charge — travelling to you, making the booking, running the scan and passing on the advice. The clean itself starts from £299.
Naming a flat rate would not be truthful. We fix it by phone, once the vehicle and its expected needs are known. What you run and where you are both move it: Pollo itself, over at Barbaraville, or further out in the IV postcode area.
If the check counts cleaning out, there is not a penny to pay for it. You even so pay that charge: someone turned up, carried out the check and gave you the advice.
Aftercare is taken in by a 30-day warranty: should the light come back within it, an engineer comes back to Pollo.

Vehicles we clean, and where we reach near Pollo
Cars, vans and light commercials, HGVs, plant and construction machinery, farm vehicles — the one call-out service across all of them, and on all of them the filter is treated where it sits rather than taken anywhere.
Pollo is hardly ever a special trip: technicians are working Sutor View most weeks, and the same run covers Barbaraville, Lower Tullich and the villages out past Milton. Call anyway from farther out through Highland. Coverage extends UK-wide, and the day you get depends on the calendar rather than how far away you are.

Questions Pollo drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Can I just take it for a long drive?
- It can, provided you catch it early enough and limp mode has not begun. It needs a sustained run at motorway speed, not five minutes or so to Co-op Food and back.
- Broadly how long does it last?
- It is typically around 2 hours. A severely loaded filter can need a second clean, which extends that.
- How much does it run to across Pollo?
- The call-out charge covers the visit, the diagnostic and the advice; the clean itself starts from £299. The vehicle and your address both move the figure, so we price on the phone.
- Must I be present in person?
- The vehicle needs a place for two hours or so. Nobody expects you to be in it. If you would prefer to come along, the regeneration can be run as a watched drive instead.
- When can someone come to Pollo?
- Depending on the schedule, often same-day or next-day is usual. Ring 0303 330 1830 and we will tell you what is free across the IV area.
- Will the filter be taken off?
- On the on-site service, no: the filter is cleaned in place. Getting a filter off or putting one back on count as anything a job we do in either direction.
- What if the light returns?
- An engineer heads back out to Pollo — the 30-day warranty covers aftercare.
