Mobile DPF Cleaning covering Pentlepoir, Pembrokeshire
Sorting the DPF happens at the car, not at a workshop. The engineer arrives at your door in Pentlepoir and starts. The diesel particulate filter is cleaned on the vehicle, a DPF regeneration follows, and you end up with the filter you arrived with.
Allow for the visit running typically around 2 hours. The clean starts from £299, agreed on the phone before anyone leaves.
If the light is already on and the motor is low on power, this page is yours. That is how most people arrive here.
What to check when the DPF light comes on
The unit is not necessarily what is wrong, and that comes first. Cleaning is not where a visit starts. A check is — a number of faults appear as the same light.
How the vehicle is driven in the meantime makes a difference too.
- Worth a shot before you book anything: amber light, car driving as normal, just one steady run, no outlay.
- Vehicle already gone into limp mode — that window has closed. A drive will not shift it now.
- A diesel smell inside, or black smoke under hard acceleration, is the moment to stop arranging long drives and ring.
Signs the motor has been showing you
Symptoms have generally been mounting for some time before the light so much as appears. Late news, in other words:
- less power, especially pulling uphill
- revs that will not rise the way they once did
- the fuel economy is down
- without a word, the stop/start packs in
- smoke under acceleration, or a diesel smell in there
None of that is conclusive on its own. The light with them points at a blocked filter.
Why diesel particulate filters clog around Pentlepoir
For a DPF, the poorest use is the type you find across a coastal village such as Pentlepoir. A regeneration takes time and heat, and has neither: not on the school run to the local primary school, not on Millfield Close at the morning rush, not on a few minutes to The Co-operative Food, and not on the run to Saundersfoot. Soot that should clear banks up instead.
Neither is a long way from Pentlepoir: under 50 miles to the M4, under 50 miles to St Davids. Neither is on the way to much most weeks, though, so the run that would empty a filter hardly ever happens.
Why limp mode stops a DPF regeneration
The vehicle is protecting itself, which is what limp mode is. The real catch is that a proper drive works by starting a regeneration, and once in limp mode the revs will not climb and power is capped.
Sensible advice, that motorway run — right up until the point it is not. Past that line — limp mode — driving will not do it, and the filter needs a clean.
DPF cleaning at the car in Pentlepoir
Nothing is taken from the vehicle. That catches out people. The DPF remains fitted where it is and the work is done around it, on a forecourt, in a works car park, anywhere it can stand for a few hours.
First a check. Live ECU data, the soot load as a proportion and as a weight, the sensor readings, the glow plugs, the connected components — all of it taken before anything is started.
Then the cleaning. A solution goes in through the access port on that car and opens out inside the filter, freeing the soot and ash a regeneration alone will never budge. Where the filter is heavily loaded, expect a second pass.
Next, a regeneration clears everything the clean freed. Either it is done as a monitored drive out of Pentlepoir, with you present, or it is done where the motor sits and the real-time data is read afterwards.
Finally the diagnostic runs again — the change verified, the light cleared, anything still outstanding noted. Both sets of figures arrive with you by email, so the numbers are on record.
Where treatment is not the answer
Cleaning cures one thing: a filter choked with soot and ash. It does no good for:
- sensors, pressure or temperature, flagging a restriction that is not real
- EGR valves that jam open
- the AdBlue system failing
- injectors or glow plugs that stop a regeneration running in the first place
- oil coming through the filter from a failing turbo
That is what the first check is for. Transpiring to be one of them means finding out it before the work gets going, not after paying for it.
DPF renewal is what people look up, but no part is exchanged: the filter you own is cleared where it sits and put back to work. Nor is having it gutted a remedy, since the MOT then fails and driving becomes illegal. Two more things worth knowing.
Costs for DPF cleaning around Pentlepoir
Every visit carries a call-out charge — coming out to you, setting up the booking, doing the check and passing on the advice. The clean itself opens from £299.
Not one flat rate would be honest, so the number is agreed on the phone once we know the vehicle and what the filter is apt to need. Where you are matters as much as what you drive: Pentlepoir itself, The Valley nearby, or otherwise out within the SA postcode area.
You are not charged for cleaning that the check says will not help. Because the visit, the scan and the advice have happened, the call-out charge still applies.
Aftercare is covered by a 30-day warranty: should the light return within it, an engineer returns to Pentlepoir.
Andras was excellent in explaining everything he was doing as it took him some time to determine the source of the fault-great patience and persistence. I have no qualms in recommending DPF Fixer. First rate service!
Honestly couldn't of chose a better place the guy come out done it within a hour and it's working perfectly no issues.

Vehicles we clean, and where we get to near Pentlepoir
Cars, vans of any size and light commercials, HGVs, plant and construction machinery, farm vehicles — a single call-out service across all of them, and on all of them the filter is done in place rather than moved anywhere.
Most weeks there is already someone on Millfield Close, so Pentlepoir hardly ever means a detour, and The Valley, Kingsmoor and the spots past Wooden come with it. Coverage is UK-wide, so even further out through Pembrokeshire is still worth a call, and what decides between today and tomorrow is the schedule rather than the distance.

Frequent questions on DPF cleaning across Pentlepoir
- Does a long run sort it?
- If you spot it early enough, and the car is not in limp mode, sometimes. A sustained run at motorway speed is what it needs — not five minutes or so to The Co-operative Food and back.
- The visit runs how long?
- Bank on typically around 2 hours, with a second clean extending that where the filter is heavily clogged.
- What does it run to around Pentlepoir?
- Treatment starts from £299, and the call-out charge on top takes in the visit, the check and the advice. The vehicle and your address both change the number, so we quote on the phone.
- Must I be there in person?
- Nobody expects you to stand with it — the vehicle just needs somewhere to stand for a couple of hours. Wanting to be there is welcome: the regeneration then runs out on the road, monitored.
- When can someone get to Pentlepoir?
- That hangs on the diary, but it is often same-day or next-day. Phone 0303 330 1830 and you will learn what is free across the SA area.
- Is the filter taken off the vehicle?
- On the on-site service, no: the filter is cleaned in place. We will not take filters off or fit them back on, whichever way.
- Suppose the light comes back?
- Taken in by the 30-day warranty: aftercare, and an engineer heading back to Pentlepoir.
