- A diesel smell inside, or black smoke under the throttle, is the moment to stop planning long drives and ring.
Before the light, what the car was telling you
Symptoms have normally been building for weeks before the light so much as arrives. Late news, in other words:
- going uphill, the power tails off
- an engine whose revs will not pull like they did
- worse fuel economy
- quietly, the stop/start gives up
- the interior smelling of diesel, or smoke when you pull away
Alone, none of that is evidence. It is a fair bet the filter is loaded once the light is on as well.
Why diesel particulate filters clog near Penrhys
