Mobile DPF Cleaning across Peak Forest and Derbyshire
Sorting the DPF is done at the vehicle, not at a garage. The fitter arrives at your door over in Peak Forest and sets up. The diesel particulate filter is cleared on the motor, a DPF regeneration runs after it, and you keep the filter you started with.
Allow for the visit lasting typically around 2 hours. The clean starts from £299, fixed by the phone before anyone sets off.
Most drivers find us with the light on already, and the motor down on power. That is the situation this page is written for.
What to check when the DPF light is on
The unit is not necessarily what is at fault, and that leads. A clean is not where a visit starts. A scan is — plenty of faults register as the same warning.
It counts what you get with the motor between now and the visit.
- Worth a go before you book anything: amber light, motor driving as normal, just one constant run, no charge.
- That window has closed once the car has slipped into limp mode. Motoring will not help now.
- A diesel smell inside, or black smoke under hard acceleration, is the moment to stop planning long drives and ring.
Before the light, what the motor was showing you
Symptoms have generally been building for some time before the light ever appears. Belated news, in other words:
- less power, above all climbing uphill
- revs that will not rise the way they always did
- fuel use going worse
- the stop/start without a word bowing out
- smoke under acceleration, or a diesel smell in there
Any one of those, taken alone, is not proof. Next to the light, it is a fair assumption the filter is full.
The reason diesel particulate filters choke around Peak Forest
Being a rural village, Peak Forest generates precisely the driving a DPF manages least well. A regeneration wants time and heat, and sees neither: not on the school run to Peak Forest Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School, not on Old Dam Lane at half eight, not on five minutes to The Co-operative Food, and not on the dash to Dove Holes. Soot that should clear collects instead.
Neither is far from Peak Forest: under 15 miles to the M67, under 25 miles to Sheffield. Neither is on the way to anywhere most weeks, though, so the run that would clear a filter hardly ever happens.
DPF regeneration, and the point limp mode stops it
Limp mode is the car defending itself. The real problem is that a long drive works by triggering a regeneration, and once in limp mode the revs will not rise and power is held down.
Getting it up the motorway is the common advice, and it works right up to a point. Beyond that line — limp mode — driving will not be enough, and the filter wants cleaning.
DPF cleaning at the vehicle round Peak Forest
The filter does not come off. That is the detail most drivers do not expect: the job takes place with the DPF yet fitted to the vehicle, on your drive, in a work car park, wherever the vehicle can stand for a while.
First a diagnostic. Live ECU data, the soot load as a proportion and as a weight, the sensor feeds, the glow plugs, the connected parts — all of it logged before any of it is cleaned.
Next comes the clean itself: solution in through the car's own access port, opening out inside the filter and loosening what a regeneration never can. A second pass is sometimes needed on severely loaded filters.
Then a regeneration, to burn off what the clean has freed. Either it runs as a monitored drive out of Peak Forest, with you present, or it runs where the vehicle waits and the live data is verified once done.
Finally the check runs again — the change confirmed, the light reset, anything still showing written down. Both reports reach you by email, so the numbers are on record.
What a DPF clean will not fix
Cleaning cures one thing: a filter blocked with soot and ash. It does no good for:
- temperature or pressure sensors flagging a block that is not there
- a jammed EGR valve
- an AdBlue system problem
- injectors or glow plugs that block a regeneration starting at all
- a turbo putting oil through the filter
That is what the first scan is for. You are warned before all work begins, not after you have paid, if it turns out to be one of those.
DPF renewal is what people search for, but no part is swapped: the filter you own is cleared where it sits and sent back into service. Nor is having it cut out a remedy, since the MOT then fails and driving becomes unlawful. Two more things worth knowing.
What DPF cleaning costs across Peak Forest
A call-out charge stands whatever follows, and takes in the visit, the booking fee, the scan and the advice offered. Treatment itself starts from £299.
Naming a flat rate would not be truthful. We fix it on the phone, once the motor and its probable needs are clear. Two things change it: what you own, and where you are — Peak Forest itself, over at Perryfoot, or otherwise out within the SK postcode area.
Cleaning that will not do it is not treatment you pay for, and the scan is what says so. You nonetheless pay that charge: someone travelled, ran the check and gave you the advice.
If the light comes back inside that window, an engineer heads back out to Peak Forest — the clean carries a 30-day warranty including aftercare.
BRILLIANT SERVICE AND TEMUR EXPLAINED AND FIXED THE VEHICLE VERY QUICKLY AND PROFESSIONALLY, VAN NOW BACK TO WORK. THANK YOU.
Managed to clean the DPF in my Range Rover Evoque whilst in limp mode and get it back on the road in 2 hours. Ashley was knowledgeable and did a cracking job.
Very happy with the DPF clean car was well clogged up and not running correctly but now running perfectly, very happy.
Where we get to around Peak Forest, and what we clean
Cars and estates, vans of any size and light commercials, heavy goods vehicles, plant machinery, farm vehicles — the one call-out service across all of them, and on all of them the filter is treated on the vehicle rather than moved anywhere.
The same run that puts technicians on Old Dam Lane most weeks covers Peak Forest, Perryfoot, Wheston and the places beyond Dove Holes. Call anyway from even further out around Derbyshire. Coverage extends UK-wide, and the day you get comes down to the diary rather than how far away you are.

What Peak Forest drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Can I simply take it for a long drive?
- If you catch it early enough, and the vehicle is not in limp mode, sometimes. Ten minutes to The Co-operative Food and back will not be enough; motorway speed, kept for a stretch, will.
- Does the visit last long?
- Allow typically around 2 hours — severely loaded filters sometimes need a second pass, which adds to it.
- Cost around Peak Forest — what is it?
- The call-out charge pays for the visit, the scan and the advice; treatment itself starts from £299. Both the vehicle and where you are move it, which is why settling it goes by phone.
- Have I have to be there?
- Space for the motor to sit, for a couple of hours, is all that is required. Not you. If you would prefer to come along, the regeneration can be done as a supervised drive instead.
- Can someone get to Peak Forest soon?
- It is often same-day or next-day, depending on what is already in the diary. Call 0303 330 1830 and we will let you what is free across the SK area.
- Will the filter be taken off?
- Not on the on-site service — it is cleaned where it sits. That work — a filter off, a filter back on — is not something we do.
- The light comes back — then what?
- Aftercare comes inside the 30-day warranty, and that includes an engineer returning to Peak Forest.
