Mobile DPF Cleaner

Mobile DPF Cleaning serving Park Common, Norfolk

The motor remains in place — on-site DPF cleaning comes to it. No body shop, no filter going anywhere. An engineer comes to your address across Park Common, clears the diesel particulate filter where it is, carries out a DPF regeneration, and you hold on to the filter you started with.

Reckon on the visit taking typically around 2 hours. The clean opens from £299, agreed by the phone before anyone travels.

Written for the state most drivers are in: the light on already, the car struggling for power, and the job still to book.

What to try when the DPF light shows

Not the filter, automatically. Main thing to get straight. A diagnostic comes before the cleaning, because that same panel light has several possible faults behind it.

The use you do in the meantime matters. That is the other thing.

  • Worth a shot before you call anything: amber light, vehicle driving normally, just one constant run, no outlay.
  • A drive will not shift it now — limp mode means that window has already closed.
  • Get it seen to rather than running it — diesel in the cabin, or smoke on the throttle, has gone past the long-run stage.

What the motor has been warning you

By the time the light shows, things have generally been deteriorating for some time. It is last news:

  • power dropping away, especially climbing uphill
  • you notice the revs fall short of where they always went
  • the fuel consumption is down
  • a stop/start that has meekly packed in
  • smoke under the throttle, or a diesel smell in the car

Any one of those, taken singly, is not evidence. It is a fair assumption the filter is blocked once the light is showing too.

The reason diesel particulate filters clog round Park Common

Park Common is a rural hamlet, and the motoring that comes with one is the least kind type for a DPF. Not one bit of it lasts long enough or is hot enough for the filter to complete a regeneration: the school run to Kenninghall Primary School, Kenninghall Road standing at the morning rush, a few minutes to Sainsbury's, the dash to Eccles Road. Instead of burning off, the soot banks up.

Unless you have a regular need to drive out to the M11, under 50 miles from Park Common, or across to Norwich under 25 miles away, whole weeks slip past without a long unbroken run. Geography is no help.

Limp mode, and when DPF regeneration stops working

Limp mode is the motor defending itself. A sustained drive works by triggering a regeneration, and that is just what limp mode prevents: power held down, revs kept low, no regeneration possible.

Sound advice, that motorway run — until the point it is not. In limp mode you are the far side of that point: treatment is what will help, not more road work.

Where the vehicle stands is where the DPF is cleaned round Park Common

On your front, in a work car park, any place the motor can wait for a while: the job is done with the filter yet fitted on, which is the detail most drivers do not expect.

First a check. Running ECU data, the soot load as a proportion and as a weight, the sensor feeds, the glow plugs, the associated components — all of it logged before any of it is cleaned.

Then the cleaning. A cleaning solution is injected through the access port on that vehicle and opens out inside the filter, lifting the soot and ash a regeneration by itself will never shift. Where the filter is heavily loaded, expect a second pass.

What the clean has freed is then cleared by a regeneration. Either it runs as a monitored drive out of Park Common, with you along, or it is done where the motor stands and the live data is checked afterwards.

Finally the scan runs again — the change verified, the light cleared, anything still outstanding written down. Both sets of figures reach you by email, so the numbers are kept.

When a DPF clean is not the fix

One thing is what cleaning fixes — a filter choked with soot and ash. It does no good for:

  • the wrong reading from a pressure or temperature sensor
  • the EGR valve held open
  • AdBlue system failures
  • a regeneration that never runs, because of glow plugs or injectors
  • the turbo pushing oil into the filter

The first check is there for precisely that. When it turns out to be one of those, you are told before any work gets going rather than after you have handed over anything.

Two things more worth knowing. Leaving the filter gutted is not a solution — a vehicle without a functioning DPF fails its MOT and driving it is illegal. And cleaning is sometimes looked up as DPF renewal: nothing is exchanged, your own filter is cleared in place and sent back into use.

The cost of DPF cleaning in Park Common

The clean opens from £299. A call-out charge applies to every visit, and covers the call-out itself, the booking, the check and the advice that comes with it.

The number is settled over the phone, once we have the vehicle and what the filter is apt to need. No flat rate could be truthful. Two separate things move it: what you own, and where you are — Park Common itself, out at Kenninghall, or further out in the NR postcode area.

You are not billed for a clean that the check says will not work. The call-out charge even so stands, because the visit, the diagnostic and the advice have taken place.

Aftercare is included by a 30-day warranty: should the light come back within it, an engineer heads back to Park Common.

The vehicles we clean and the patch we reach near Park Common

Whatever it is — estate, van, light commercial, lorry, plant, construction machinery, agricultural vehicle — the very same mobile service holds, and the filter never departs it.

Park Common is rarely a special trip: technicians are working Kenninghall Road most weeks, and the same run picks up Kenninghall, Dam Green and the spots out past Banham. Coverage runs UK-wide, so even further out through Norfolk is nonetheless worth a phone call, and what settles between today and tomorrow is the diary rather than the distance.

Park Common itself

Park Common is a small hamlet in the Norfolk countryside, situated approximately 17.5 miles from Norwich and 80.7 miles from London. Park Common sits at an elevation of 49 metres, surrounded by rolling hills and open fields, with nearby places including Kenninghall, Dam Green, and Hunts Corner. Park Common is characterised by its predominantly detached housing stock, reflecting its rural setting and scattered development pattern.

Things Park Common drivers ask about DPF cleaning

Does a long run sort it?
Sometimes, if you catch it early enough and the car has not slipped into limp mode. It needs a sustained run at motorway speed, not five minutes to Sainsbury's and back.
Does the visit run long?
It is typically around 2 hours. A heavily blocked filter can require a second clean, which adds to that.
Across Park Common, what does it come to?
It starts from £299, plus the call-out charge paying for the visit, the scan and the advice. Both the vehicle and where you are shift it, which is why settling it is done by phone.
Have I got to be there?
Space for the car to sit, for a couple of hours, is all that is wanted. Not you. If you would rather come along, the regeneration can be done as a watched drive instead.
Travelling to Park Common — how soon?
That comes down to the schedule, but it is often same-day or next-day. One call to 0303 330 1830 and you will hear what the NR area has open.
Will the filter be lifted off?
It is done where it sits, on the on-site service. And neither does lifting a filter off nor bolting one back on is work we do.
And if the light comes back?
The 30-day warranty takes in aftercare, including an engineer coming back to Park Common.
