Mobile DPF Cleaning covering Parc-Seymour, Newport
With mobile DPF cleaning, we travel to the motor. A fitter arrives at your door across Parc-Seymour, cleans the diesel particulate filter while it is still on the vehicle, performs a DPF regeneration, and you hold on to the filter you arrived with.
You'll be given a price by phone before anyone leaves, the clean starting from £299, and the visit running typically around 2 hours.
If the light is showing and the vehicle is low on power, this page is the right one. That is how most people arrive here.
The DPF light is on. What now?
First thing: it is not necessarily the filter. Plenty of faults put the very same light on the same panel, which is why a visit begins with a check rather than with a clean.
The motoring you get in the meantime matters. That is the other thing.
- Amber light, vehicle still driving as normal — a long even run can still shift it alone. Costs nothing, and worth a try before you ring anything.
- A drive will not reach it now — limp mode means that window has by then gone.
- Diesel smell in the cabin, or black smoke under the throttle — stop booking long drives and get it checked.
Before the light, what the car was telling you
By the time the light appears, things have usually been slipping for a while. It is last news:
- climbing uphill, the power tails off
- revs that will not rise the way they always did
- fuel use that is worse than it was
- stop/start quietly bowing out
- the interior reeking of diesel, or smoke when you press on
Any one of those, taken by itself, is not evidence. The light beside them suggests a full filter.
The explanation diesel particulate filters choke round Parc-Seymour
For a DPF, the least kind use is the kind you get around a rural village such as Parc-Seymour. Nothing of it goes on long enough or gets hot enough for the filter to see through a regeneration: the school run to the local primary school, Greenmeadow Drive crawling at half eight, ten minutes to The Co-operative Food, the hop to Severn Tunnel Junction. What should burn off stays put.
Where you sit does not help either. The M4 is under 3 miles from Parc-Seymour and Newport is under 10 miles away, so unless something carries you out that way routinely, whole weeks slip past without the long unbroken run that would empty the filter by itself.
The moment a DPF regeneration can no longer run
Limp mode is the car protecting itself. Output is limited, the revs will not pull, and the regeneration the filter wants can never happen — which is the whole problem, because a sustained drive works by triggering that regeneration.
Running it up the motorway is the standard advice, and it works as far as a point. In limp mode you are past that stage: treatment is what will work, not more road work.
DPF cleaning at the vehicle across Parc-Seymour
Most people do not see coming this detail: the filter stays on. The job takes place with the DPF even now bolted to the vehicle — on your front, in a work car park, wherever the vehicle can wait for a couple of hours.
Nothing is touched until other faults are ruled out. That means a diagnostic first: real-time data off the ECU, soot load by percent and by weight, and a check of the sensor feeds, glow plugs and related parts.
Then the treatment. A solution goes in through the access port on that car and spreads inside the filter, lifting the soot and ash a regeneration by itself will never budge. Sometimes a filter is clogged enough to need doing twice.
Next, a regeneration drives off everything the clean loosened. If you are there, that is run as a monitored drive out of Parc-Seymour; if not, statically where the motor sits, with the live data checked afterwards.
Both reports are sent by email, so the figures from either end are on record. The second scan is what confirms the change, puts out the light and logs whatever is still showing.
The problems a DPF clean cannot fix
Treatment cures one thing: a filter clogged with soot and ash. It does no good for:
- a pressure sensor reporting a restriction that is not there
- EGR valves that hang open
- an AdBlue system failure
- a regeneration that hardly ever completes, because of glow plugs or injectors
- oil coming through the filter from a faulty turbo
That is what the first scan is for. Where one of those proves the fault, you hear about it up front rather than once the money has gone already.
Lastly, two things. A vehicle with the filter cut out fails its MOT, and driving it is an offence, so that is no fix. What gets looked up as DPF renewal exchanges nothing: your filter is treated in place and goes back into work.
What DPF cleaning comes to around Parc-Seymour
Every visit takes a call-out charge — travelling to you, setting up the booking, doing the diagnostic and giving the advice. The clean itself opens from £299.
Once we know what you own, and broadly what the filter will take, the number gets fixed by phone. A single price for all would not be honest. Whereabouts you are tells as much as what you own: Parc-Seymour itself, Coed-y-caerau next door, or farther out in the NP postcode area.
You are not charged for a clean that the check says will not do it. You even so pay that charge: someone came out, did the check and passed on you the advice.
The job includes a 30-day warranty taking in aftercare, including an engineer coming back out to Parc-Seymour if the light reappears inside that time.
Great work by the team. Managed to restore my dpf to as good as new. Very reliable and great service by Darius. Highly recommended.
Good job. Nat was very professional and thorough. Explained in detail what he had done, and gave me advice for the future. Would use them again (but hope not to need to!).
Excellent service, completely unclogged my dpf & identified a nox sensor would need replacing. Car now working as new. Recommended.
Vehicles we clean, and where we travel near Parc-Seymour
Whatever it is — private car, panel van, light commercial, lorry, plant, construction machinery, agricultural machine — the one on-site service stands, and the filter never departs it.
The same round that keeps our engineers on Greenmeadow Drive most weeks covers Parc-Seymour, Coed-y-caerau, Llanmartin and the spots beyond Penhow. Farther out around Newport is still worth a call — coverage runs UK-wide, and it is the calendar rather than the distance that settles between this day and the next.

Things Parc-Seymour drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Does a long run shift it?
- Quickly enough, and with the motor out of limp mode, yes — sometimes. Fifteen minutes to The Co-operative Food and back will not manage it; motorway speed, held for a stretch, will.
- The visit takes how long?
- Reckon on typically around 2 hours, with a second clean adding to that where the filter is severely clogged.
- Cost around Parc-Seymour — what is it?
- Opening from £299, with a charge for coming out that covers the diagnostic and advice on what to do next. Quoting is done by phone, since what you run and where you are both change the number.
- Do I have to be present?
- The vehicle requires a spot for two hours or so. You do not need to be in it. If you would rather come along, the regeneration can be run as a watched drive instead.
- Can someone travel to Parc-Seymour soon?
- Depending on the calendar, often same-day or next-day is normal. One phone call to 0303 330 1830 and you will learn what the NP area has available.
- Will the filter be removed?
- Cleaned where it stands, on this service, so no. That job — a filter off, a filter back on — is not something we do.
- Suppose the light comes back?
- Aftercare comes inside the 30-day warranty, and that includes an engineer returning to Parc-Seymour.
