Mobile DPF Cleaning covering Oldfield, Warwickshire
Sorting the DPF happens at the motor, not at a body shop. Your vehicle will not be taken off and the filter will not leave it. A fitter turns up at your address across Oldfield, cleans the diesel particulate filter on the vehicle and runs a DPF regeneration.
You'll be given a price by phone before anyone goes, the clean beginning from £299, and the visit lasting typically around 2 hours.
The light is on already and the car is down on power — that is how we generally meet people, and roughly what this page is about.
Your DPF light is lit — what now?
The filter is not always what is to blame, and that leads. Plenty of faults put the identical light on the same panel, which is why a visit starts with a diagnostic rather than with treatment.
It tells what you get with the vehicle between now and the visit.
- Vehicle even now driving as normal on an amber light — try a long constant run first. It costs zero and frequently sorts the filter without assistance.
- That window has gone once the motor has dropped into limp mode. Driving will not get there now.
- Get it seen to rather than driving it — diesel in the car, or smoke on acceleration, has gone well past the long-run stage.
Before the light, what the car was warning you
By the time the light arrives, things have normally been going wrong for some time. It is belated news:
- power dropping away, above all climbing uphill
- revs that will not climb the way they used to
- consumption that is worse than it was
- without a word, the stop/start packs in
- a diesel smell in the interior, or smoke under hard acceleration
On its own, none of that is proof. With the light alongside them, the filter is a fair guess.
Blocked diesel particulate filters around Oldfield, and the why
Oldfield is a rural hamlet, and the driving that comes with one is the poorest sort for a DPF. A regeneration needs the time and heat, and has not much: not on the school run to The Ferncumbe CofE Primary School, not on Old Warwick Road at the morning rush, not on a few minutes to Henley Supermarket, and not on the run to Hatton. Instead of clearing, the unburnt soot collects.
Where you sit does not assist either. The M40 is under a mile from Oldfield and Coventry is under 15 miles away, so unless something takes you out that way regularly, entire weeks slip past without the long steady run that could empty the filter alone.
The stage a DPF regeneration can no longer complete
It is self-protection: that is all limp mode amounts to. A long drive works by setting off a regeneration, and that is exactly what limp mode blocks: power capped, revs pinned, no regeneration available.
Taking it up the motorway is the common advice, and it works right up to a line. The filter wants a clean rather than road work once the car has gone into limp mode.
Mobile DPF cleaning where the car stands across Oldfield
Nothing comes off the vehicle. That throws people. The DPF remains bolted where it is and the work happens around it, on a driveway, in a works car park, wherever it can stand for two hours or so.
First a scan. Real-time ECU data, the soot load as a proportion and as a figure, the sensors, the glow plugs, the associated hardware — all of it logged before any of it is touched.
Soot and ash that a regeneration on its own will never move are loosened next, by a cleaning solution passed through the access point on that motor, which spreads inside the filter. A second pass is sometimes needed on badly clogged filters.
What the clean has lifted is then burned off by a regeneration. That is a monitored drive out of Oldfield if you are present, or a static regeneration where the motor stands, with the real-time data read once done.
A second diagnostic proves the change, puts out the warning light and notes anything still showing. Both reports are sent over, so you have the before and after figures recorded.
When a DPF clean is not the solution
Only one fault is cured by a clean: the filter blocked with ash and soot. It does little for:
- the wrong signal from a temperature sensor
- the EGR valve stuck open
- an AdBlue system failure
- injectors or glow plugs that stop a regeneration running at all
- the turbo putting oil into the filter
That is what the first diagnostic is for. Where one of those turns out to be the fault, you hear about it at the outset rather than once the money has changed hands altogether.
Two more worth bearing in mind. Having the filter gutted is not a fix — a vehicle without a working DPF cannot pass its MOT and driving it is illegal. And cleaning is sometimes searched for as DPF renewal: nothing is swapped, your own filter is cleared in place and put back into use.
The figure for DPF cleaning around Oldfield
Any visit takes a call-out charge — coming out to you, making the booking, running the check and offering the advice. The clean itself begins from £299.
Publishing a flat rate would not be honest. We settle it over phone, once the motor and its probable needs are known. Two things change it: what you run, and where you are — Oldfield itself, over at Shrewley, or farther out in the CV postcode area.
You are not billed for cleaning that the scan says will not help. What still stands is the call-out charge, since the visit happened, the scan was run and the advice was passed on.
The work comes with a 30-day warranty including aftercare, including an engineer heading back out to Oldfield if the light comes back inside that time.
Really pleased with the service which cleared the DPF block and warning light on dash of my Landrover. Saved me £2500!
Andras was excellent. He arrived on schedule, was knowledgeable, professional and courteous and took care of our car. So far the clean seems to have worked and we hope it continues to so we can avoid the hugely expensive DPF replacement.
Absolutely spot on service, Chris travelled all the way from Wrexham to Lytham St Anne's. Spent a few hours on my car, no issues since. Service from the booking office easy and hassle free and friendly. Can't recommend them enough.
Vehicles we clean, and where we get to around Oldfield
One on-site service covers private cars, vans and light commercials, HGVs, plant machinery and agricultural machinery, and on every one the filter is cleaned where it sits rather than taken anywhere.
Most weeks there is by then someone on Old Warwick Road, so Oldfield hardly ever means a journey of its own, and Shrewley, Rowington and the spots past Little Shrewley come with it. Further out through Warwickshire is even so worth phoning about — coverage runs UK-wide, and it is the schedule rather than the distance that settles between this day and the next.

Things Oldfield drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Will a long drive shift it?
- If you spot it early, and the vehicle is not in limp mode, sometimes. It needs a sustained run at motorway speed, not fifteen minutes or so to Henley Supermarket and back.
- How long does the visit take?
- Bank on typically around 2 hours, with a second clean lengthening that where the filter is severely loaded.
- Price in Oldfield — what is it?
- It opens from £299, plus the call-out charge covering the visit, the check and the advice. The vehicle and your address both move the number, so we quote on the phone.
- Do I have to be present?
- The vehicle wants a spot for two hours or so. You do not need to be in it. Travel along if you like, and the regeneration is done as a watched drive.
- Travelling to Oldfield — how soon?
- Depending on the calendar, often same-day or next-day is typical. Ring 0303 330 1830 what is free across the CV area.
- Is the filter lifted off the car?
- On the call-out service, no: the filter is treated in place. Getting a filter off or bolting one back on come to anything something we do in either direction.
- Suppose the light returns?
- An engineer heads back out to Oldfield — the 30-day warranty covers aftercare.
