Mobile DPF Cleaning serving Odsal, West Yorkshire
Call-out DPF cleaning goes to the motor. The fitter turns up at your door over in Odsal and starts. The diesel particulate filter is cleaned on the motor, a DPF regeneration follows, and you keep the filter you started with.
Budget for the visit taking typically around 2 hours. The clean begins from £299, fixed over the phone before anyone leaves.
The light is on already and the motor is low on power — that is how we normally meet people, and roughly what this page covers.
DPF light on? What comes next
First thing: it is not necessarily the unit. Treatment is not where a visit begins. A scan is — a number of faults appear as the same signal.
Second thing: how you handle it between now and then makes a difference.
- Amber light, motor still driving as normal — a long steady run can still shift it on its own. Costs zero, and worth trying before you call anything.
- That window has gone once the vehicle has slipped into limp mode. Motoring will not do it now.
- Stop booking long drives and get it looked at if the cabin smells of diesel or there is black smoke when you press on.
Before the light, what the motor was showing you
Belated news, the light. The symptoms generally build for some time before it shows:
- falling off on power, especially uphill
- you see the revs fall short of where they always went
- the fuel use is poorer
- stop/start silently giving up
- a diesel smell in the car, or smoke under the throttle
On its own, none of that is conclusive. Alongside the light, it is a fair bet the filter is loaded.
What chokes diesel particulate filters near Odsal
Odsal is a neighbourhood, and the driving that comes with one is the poorest kind for a DPF. A regeneration wants long enough and heat, and sees neither: not on the school run to St Winefride's Catholic Primary School, A Voluntary Academy, not on Beech Road at half past eight, not on five minutes to Tesco Express, and not on the hop to Low Moor. Soot that should clear banks up instead.
The M606 lies under a mile from Odsal, Bradford under 3 miles away, and unless something takes you out that way often, whole weeks go by without the sustained run that clears a unit. Geography does not help.
The stage a DPF regeneration can no longer happen
The vehicle is protecting itself, which is what limp mode means. Output is capped, the revs will not rise, and the regeneration the filter requires can not complete — which is the whole problem, because a proper drive works by setting off that regeneration.
Getting it up the motorway is the common advice, and it holds up to a limit. The filter needs treatment rather than road work once the vehicle has slipped into limp mode.
The vehicle stays where it is for on-site DPF cleaning in Odsal
On your driveway, in a work car park, wherever the car can wait for a couple of hours: the job is done with the filter even now bolted on, which is the part most people do not see coming.
First a check. Live ECU data, the soot load as a percentage and as a figure, the sensors, the glow plugs, the related parts — all of it read before anything is cleaned.
Soot and ash that a regeneration alone will never shift are loosened second, by a cleaning solution fed through the access point on that vehicle, which opens out inside the filter. A second pass is sometimes needed on heavily clogged filters.
A regeneration is next, clearing what the clean has loosened. Either it runs as a monitored drive out of Odsal, with you along, or it runs where the motor sits and the running data is read afterwards.
A second diagnostic confirms the change, resets the warning light and notes anything still open. Both reports are sent over, so you keep the before and after figures recorded.
What a DPF clean will not fix
Only one fault is answered by treatment: the filter clogged with ash and soot. It does nothing for:
- a temperature or pressure sensor reporting a block that is not there
- an EGR valve stuck open
- a failure in the AdBlue system
- failed glow plugs or injectors, so never a regeneration ever runs
- oil working through the filter from a failing turbo
That is what the first diagnostic is for. If one of those turns out to be the fault, you find out about it at the outset rather than once the money has left altogether.
DPF renewal is what people look up, but no part is replaced: the filter you have is cleaned where it sits and sent back into service. Nor is having it hollowed out a remedy, since the MOT then fails and driving becomes an offence. Two more things worth bearing in mind.
Figures for DPF cleaning around Odsal
A call-out charge holds whatever happens, and pays for the visit, the booking fee, the scan and the advice passed on. The clean itself opens from £299.
Once we are told what you run, and roughly what the filter will need, the number gets fixed over phone. A single price for every job would not be straight. Where you are matters as much as what you own: Odsal itself, Bankfoot next door, or otherwise out within the BD postcode area.
You are not charged for a clean that the check says will not work. Because the visit, the scan and the advice have happened, the call-out charge nonetheless holds.
If the light returns inside that window, an engineer travels back out to Odsal — the job comes with a 30-day warranty covering aftercare.
I would like to thank dpf for a good and prompt service. Especially igor who came across very professional and polite while doing the job. He also checked everything before he left to see if there were any other issues. We'll done igor highly recommended.
Excellent service from original phone conversation with Blake, then the engineer was in contact with regards his arrival. He was very professional and polite and keep me informed of all the tests he carried out. Highly recommend.
Turned up as arranged and investigated the problem including running diagnostics. Turns out dpf was ok. Very helpful in pin pointing the problem.
Where we travel near Odsal, and what we clean
The one on-site service covers private cars, panel vans and light commercials, HGVs, plant machinery and farm vehicles, and on every one the filter is treated in place rather than moved anywhere.
Odsal is seldom a special trip: technicians are along Beech Road nearly every week, and the same run picks up Bankfoot, Low Moor and the spots out past Oakenshaw. Coverage runs UK-wide, so farther out across West Yorkshire is nonetheless worth a phone call, and what decides between today and tomorrow is the calendar rather than the distance.

Usual questions on DPF cleaning across Odsal
- Is a long drive enough by itself?
- Sometimes, if you get it in time and the vehicle has not dropped into limp mode. That calls for motorway speed for a long spell, rather than a quick trip to Tesco Express.
- Does the visit last long?
- It is typically around 2 hours. A severely clogged filter can take a second clean, which lengthens that.
- Price across Odsal — what is it?
- The call-out charge covers the visit, the scan and the advice; treatment itself starts from £299. Pricing is done by phone, since what you run and where you live both move the figure.
- Is it necessary for me to be there?
- The vehicle wants a place for two hours or so. You need not be in it. The regeneration can be done as a supervised drive if you would rather be there.
- Can someone get to Odsal soon?
- That depends on the diary, but it is often same-day or next-day. Call 0303 330 1830 and you will hear what is free across the BD area.
- Is the filter lifted off the car?
- Not on the on-site service — it is done where it is. We will not lift filters off or put them back on, in either direction.
- What if the light reappears?
- The 30-day warranty includes aftercare, including an engineer coming back to Odsal.
