Signs the vehicle has been giving you
Symptoms have normally been mounting for weeks before the light ever appears. Late news, in other words:
- climbing uphill, the power falls off
- you find the revs stop short of where they used to go
- fuel economy going worse
- quietly, the stop/start packs in
- smoke under hard acceleration, or a diesel smell in there
Any one of those, taken by itself, is not evidence. The light with them indicates a blocked filter.
Why diesel particulate filters block around Ochtrelure
