Mobile DPF Cleaning across Moccas and Herefordshire
Call-out DPF cleaning goes to the vehicle. No body shop, no filter leaving. A fitter travels to your door in Moccas, cleans the diesel particulate filter in place, carries out a DPF regeneration, and you end up with the filter you came with.
The visit takes typically around 2 hours, the clean opens from £299, and the price is fixed over the phone before anyone leaves.
Most drivers find us with the light on already, and the vehicle short of power. That is the situation this page is meant for.
Your DPF light is on — what next?
The unit is not automatically what is to blame, and that leads. Several faults put the same light on the identical dashboard, which is why a visit starts with a diagnostic rather than with treatment.
It counts what you get with the car between now and the appointment.
- A long even run may yet do it, provided the light is amber and the vehicle runs fine. Costs nothing at all, so have a go at that before booking.
- That window has shut once the motor has fallen into limp mode. Motoring will not do it now.
- Get it checked rather than running it — diesel in the car, or smoke on hard acceleration, has gone beyond the long-run stage.
The vehicle has been showing you already
Late news, the light. The symptoms generally build for weeks before it shows:
- power tailing off, particularly pulling uphill
- revs that will not pull the way they always did
- fuel use that is worse than it was
- quietly, the stop/start packs in
- diesel in the car, or smoke on the way up through the gears
Any one of those, taken by itself, is not proof. With the light, it is a fair guess the filter is full.
Why diesel particulate filters block around Moccas
The driving that belongs to a rural hamlet like Moccas is the least kind kind for a DPF. Not one bit of it lasts long enough or runs hot enough for the filter to see through a regeneration: the school run to Staunton-on-Wye Endowed Primary School, Deer Park Close barely moving at the morning rush, five minutes to Co-op Food, the dash to Hereford. Instead of burning off, the soot collects.
The M50 sits under 25 miles from Moccas, Hereford under 10 miles out, and unless something takes you out that way often, whole weeks pass without the long unbroken run that empties a DPF. Geography does not oblige.
Limp mode, and when DPF regeneration stops
It is self-preservation: that is all limp mode means. The real catch is that a proper drive works by setting off a regeneration, and in limp mode the revs will not climb and power is capped.
Sound advice, that motorway run — right up until the point it is not. Once the motor is in limp mode you are the far side of that stage, and the filter wants treatment rather than road work.
Where the motor stands is where the DPF is cleaned round Moccas
The filter does not budge. That is the part most owners do not anticipate: the job is done with the DPF even now fitted to the vehicle, on your driveway, in a work car park, wherever the vehicle can sit for a couple of hours.
The ECU is read first, showing soot load by percentage and by actual weight, along with a look over of sensor readings, glow plugs and associated hardware, so nothing is cleaned while another fault is still in play.
A solution next goes in through the entry point on that vehicle, expanding inside the filter to loosen soot and ash a regeneration by itself will never move. Sometimes a filter is blocked enough to take doing twice.
Next, a regeneration clears everything the clean lifted. If you are there, that is carried out as a monitored drive out of Moccas; if not, on the spot where the vehicle waits, with the real-time data checked once done.
Finally the check runs again — the change verified, the light reset, anything still open written down. Both sets of figures reach you by email, so the numbers are kept.
Where cleaning is not the solution
One thing is what a clean answers — a filter blocked with soot and ash. It does nothing for:
- pressure or temperature sensors showing a blockage that is not there
- EGR valves that hang open
- AdBlue system problems
- glow plugs or injectors preventing the regeneration starting whatsoever
- turbo trouble, with oil reaching the filter
Which is why the diagnostic comes first. When one of those turns out to be the fault, you find out about it in advance rather than once the money has left for good.
Hollowing the filter out is not a fix: without a serviceable DPF a vehicle cannot pass its MOT, and driving it is illegal. DPF renewal is the phrase people look up, though nothing is exchanged — your own filter is treated in place and put back into use. Two more worth bearing in mind.
What DPF cleaning comes to around Moccas
A call-out charge applies whatever happens, and takes in the visit, the booking fee, the check and the advice offered. Treatment itself opens from £299.
Once we are told what you run, and broadly what the filter will take, the figure gets fixed over phone. A single price for everyone would not be straight. Where you are counts as much as what you run: Moccas itself, Blakemere close by, or farther out across the HR postcode area.
You are not charged for a clean that the diagnostic says will not do it. You still pay that charge: someone came out, carried out the scan and gave you the advice.
The work carries a 30-day warranty taking in aftercare, including an engineer travelling back out to Moccas if the light returns inside that window.
I would like to thank dpf for a good and prompt service. Especially igor who came across very professional and polite while doing the job. He also checked everything before he left to see if there were any other issues. We'll done igor highly recommended.

What we clean, and how far we travel near Moccas
The filter is done on the vehicle on all of them: cars, vans and light commercials, HGVs, plant machinery, agricultural vehicles. Nothing is taken anywhere.
Our engineers are along Deer Park Close week in week out, so Moccas is seldom a detour, and the same run takes in Blakemere, Bycross and the places out past Bredwardine. Ring anyway from further out across Herefordshire. Coverage runs UK-wide, and the day you get hangs on the schedule rather than how far away you are.

What Moccas drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Does a long run shift it?
- Sometimes, if you get it early and the car has not dropped into limp mode. Five minutes to Co-op Food and back will not do it; motorway speed, sustained for a stretch, will.
- Does the visit run long?
- Allow typically around 2 hours — badly loaded filters sometimes take a second pass, which extends it.
- Price in Moccas — what is it?
- A clean opens from £299, and the call-out charge on top takes in the visit, the scan and the advice. We settle it on the phone, because the vehicle and your address both move the number.
- Have I need to be around?
- The motor needs a spot for two hours or so. You need not be in it. Ride along if you like, and the regeneration is done as a monitored drive.
- Can someone come to Moccas soon?
- It is often same-day or next-day, depending on what is currently in the calendar. One call to 0303 330 1830 and you will hear what the HR area has available.
- The filter — does it come away from the vehicle?
- Done where it sits, on this service, so no. Lifting a filter off or bolting one back on count as anything a job we do whichever way.
- Suppose the light comes back?
- Aftercare comes inside the 30-day warranty, and that includes an engineer heading back to Moccas.
