Mobile DPF Cleaning around Maisemore, Gloucestershire
With on-site DPF cleaning, we travel to the car. The fitter pulls up at your address over in Maisemore and starts. The diesel particulate filter is cleared on the motor, a DPF regeneration runs after it, and you end up with the filter you arrived with.
The visit lasts typically around 2 hours, the clean starts from £299, and the price is agreed on the phone before anyone sets off.
Most drivers find us with the light on already, and the vehicle down on power. That is the position this page is written for.
The DPF light is on. What now?
It might not be the unit in the end. That is the first thing. A number of faults put the very same light on the identical dashboard, which is why a visit begins with a check rather than with a clean.
Second thing: how you drive it between now and then counts.
- Amber light, car even now driving normally — a long even run can still clear it on its own. Costs nothing, and worth trying before you ring anything.
- A drive will not touch it now — limp mode means that window has already gone.
- Get it seen to rather than running it — diesel in the interior, or smoke on acceleration, has gone well past the long-run stage.
The motor has been showing you already
By the time the light shows, things have usually been slipping for a while. It is late news:
- going uphill, the power falls off
- an engine whose revs will not climb as before
- the fuel consumption is down
- stop/start silently packing in
- the car smelling of diesel, or smoke when you pull away
None of that is evidence on its own. With the light beside them, the filter is a fair bet.
What clogs diesel particulate filters around Maisemore
Maisemore is a village, and the driving that goes with one is the worst sort for a DPF. A regeneration wants long enough and heat, and gets not much: not on the school run to Highnam CofE Primary Academy, not on Old Road at the morning rush, not on five minutes to Tesco, and not on the hop to Gloucester. Instead of burning off, the unburnt soot banks up.
The M5 stands under 5 miles from Maisemore, Gloucester under 3 miles out, and unless something carries you out that way often, whole weeks go by without the long steady run that scours a DPF. Geography does not oblige.
DPF regeneration, and the moment limp mode stops it
It is self-preservation: that is all limp mode is. A long drive works by starting a regeneration, and that is just what limp mode rules out: power limited, revs held down, no regeneration on offer.
So the usual advice to run it up the motorway is sensible advice, until it is not. Beyond that stage — limp mode — driving will not be enough, and the filter wants cleaning.
Where the vehicle stands is where the DPF is done in Maisemore
On your front, in a work car park, wherever the motor can wait for a few hours: the job happens with the filter even now bolted on, which is the part most people do not anticipate.
First a check. Running ECU data, the soot load as a percentage and as a figure, the sensor feeds, the glow plugs, the connected components — all of it read before anything is cleaned.
Then the treatment. A cleaning fluid goes in through the access point on that motor and spreads inside the filter, freeing the soot and ash a regeneration on its own will never move. A second pass is sometimes required on heavily loaded filters.
A regeneration follows, clearing what the clean has loosened. Either it runs as a monitored drive out of Maisemore, with you there, or it runs where the motor stands and the live data is checked once done.
Then a second scan, proving the change, resetting the warning light and logging anything still outstanding. Both read-outs are sent over, so the before and after figures are recorded.
Where cleaning is not the solution
One thing is what cleaning cures — a filter blocked with soot and ash. It does nothing for:
- temperature or pressure sensors reporting a block that is not there
- a stuck-open EGR valve
- AdBlue system failures
- injectors or glow plugs that block a regeneration running in the first place
- the turbo putting oil into the filter
The first check is there for precisely that. You are warned before all work begins, not after you have handed over, if it turns out to be one of those.
A couple more worth noting. Getting the filter cut out is not a fix — a vehicle without a serviceable DPF will fail its MOT and driving it is an offence. And cleaning is sometimes searched for as DPF renewal: nothing is swapped, your original filter is cleaned in place and sent back into use.
Figures for DPF cleaning around Maisemore
The treatment opens from £299. A call-out charge is added to every visit, and covers the call-out itself, the booking, the check and the advice that goes with it.
Once we are told what you drive, and roughly what the filter will want, the figure gets agreed over phone. A single price for every job would not be straight. What you drive and where you are both change it: Maisemore itself, across at Over, or further out within the GL postcode area.
You are not asked to pay for cleaning that the diagnostic says will not work. The call-out charge nonetheless stands, because the visit, the diagnostic and the advice have been done.
A 30-day warranty takes in aftercare on the clean, and that includes an engineer coming back out to Maisemore if the light comes back inside the period.
Darren came on Friday 19th September to clean DPF on my vivaro done 400 miles now and running fine.
I have done second time done the DPF cleaning process and the engineers were always polite, informative, and professional. I will use this service again if need. Thanks!
Just had James to see to my car, great guy, and really a credit to Dpf Fixers. A go to company. A go to Guy.
What we clean, and how far we travel around Maisemore
The filter is treated on the vehicle on all of them: cars and estates, vans and light commercials, HGVs, plant machinery, agricultural vehicles. Nothing is taken anywhere.
Week in week out there is usually someone on Old Road, so Maisemore rarely means a detour, and Over, Highnam Green and the villages past Walham are on the way. Ring anyway from farther out across Gloucestershire. Coverage extends UK-wide, and the day you are offered hangs on the schedule rather than how far away you are.

Usual questions on DPF cleaning across Maisemore
- Is a long drive enough on its own?
- Quickly enough, and with the motor out of limp mode, yes — sometimes. It takes a sustained run at motorway speed, not ten minutes or so to Tesco and back.
- Does the visit last long?
- That is typically around 2 hours, though a heavily blocked filter can need cleaning twice, which runs on.
- What does it cost in Maisemore?
- It starts from £299, plus the call-out charge taking in the visit, the diagnostic and the advice. The vehicle and your address both shift the number, so we price on the phone.
- Do I have to be there?
- You need not stand with it — the motor only requires somewhere to stand for a couple of hours. If you would prefer to come along, the regeneration can be carried out as a monitored drive instead.
- Can someone travel to Maisemore soon?
- Depending on the schedule, often same-day or next-day is usual. Phone 0303 330 1830 and you will know what is available across the GL area.
- Does the filter come off the vehicle?
- It is done where it sits, on the call-out service. Nor does taking a filter off nor putting one back on is work we do.
- And if the light returns?
- Included by the 30-day warranty: aftercare, and an engineer heading back to Maisemore.
