Belated news, the light. The symptoms tend to mount for weeks before it shows:
- climbing uphill, the power drops away
- an engine whose revs will not rise as they should
- consumption that is worse than before
- the stop/start quietly packing in
- the car stinking of diesel, or smoke when you pull away
Any one of those, taken by itself, is not conclusive. It is a fair assumption the filter is blocked once the light is on as well.
What blocks diesel particulate filters round Lount
