Belated news, the light. The symptoms usually mount for weeks before it arrives:
- falling off on power, above all uphill
- an engine whose revs will not rise as before
- fuel consumption turning worse
- the stop/start without a word giving up
- diesel in the car, or smoke on the way up through the gearbox
That is not evidence by itself. Alongside the light, it is a fair bet the filter is blocked.
