The car has been warning you already
The light is belated news. By the time it arrives, the symptoms have normally been building for weeks:
- less power, particularly pulling uphill
- the revs no longer pull the way they once did
- the fuel economy is down
- the stop/start quietly bowing out
- smoke under hard acceleration, or a diesel smell inside
Any one of those, taken singly, is not evidence. Alongside the light alongside them, the filter is a fair guess.
What clogs diesel particulate filters around Lochindorb
