Late news, the light. The symptoms tend to build for weeks before it shows:
- pulling uphill, the power drops away
- revs that will not climb the way they once did
- consumption that is worse than it was
- the stop/start silently bowing out
- the car smelling of diesel, or smoke when you accelerate
Any one of those, taken alone, is not evidence. The light with them points at a full filter.
