Mobile DPF Cleaning around Llandow and The Vale of Glamorgan
The car sits where it is — call-out DPF cleaning comes to it. The fitter pulls up at your place across Llandow and sets up. The diesel particulate filter is treated on the vehicle, a DPF regeneration comes next, and you end up with the filter you started with.
Nobody sets off until the price is fixed by the phone. The visit lasts typically around 2 hours and the clean begins from £299.
If the light is on already and the vehicle is short of power, this page is for you. That is how most owners end up here.
Your DPF light is on — what next?
The filter is not automatically what is to blame, and that comes first. That light can come from a number of faults, not merely one, so the visit starts with a check and not with treatment.
How the car is handled in the meantime matters too.
- Amber light, motor even now driving as normal — a long steady run can even now clear it on its own. Costs nothing at all, and worth attempting before you ring anything.
- Once the motor is in limp mode, driving will not touch it. The window has closed.
- Get it looked at rather than driving it — diesel in the car, or smoke on acceleration, has gone beyond the long-run stage.
What the car has been telling you
By the time the light appears, things have usually been slipping for weeks. It is last news:
- climbing uphill, the power drops away
- an engine whose revs will not rise like they did
- economy that is worse than it was
- the stop/start without a word packing in
- smoke under hard acceleration, or a diesel smell in there
None of that is conclusive on its own. It is a fair assumption the filter is loaded once the light is on as well.
What clogs diesel particulate filters around Llandow
For a DPF, the worst driving is the sort you find across a village such as Llandow. Run through an ordinary week: the local primary school and home again, Heol-y-Nant at a halt before nine, a short hop to Co-op Food, a run to Llantwit Major. None of it there goes on long enough or runs hot enough to finish a regeneration. Soot that should clear banks up instead.
Neither is far from Llandow: under 5 miles to the M4, under 25 miles to Cardiff. Neither is on the way to anywhere most weeks, though, so the run that would scour a filter never comes.
The point a DPF regeneration can no longer complete
It is self-defence: that is all limp mode means. The real catch is that a sustained drive works by setting off a regeneration, and in limp mode the revs will not pull and power is limited.
Getting it up the motorway is the usual advice, and it holds as far as a line. In limp mode you are past that line: treatment is what will work, not more miles.
DPF cleaning at the car across Llandow
Most drivers do not see coming this bit: the filter remains. The job happens with the DPF even now fixed to the car — on your driveway, in a work car park, wherever the car can sit for a few hours.
The ECU is taken first, showing soot load by percentage and by actual weight, along with a look over of sensor readings, glow plugs and connected hardware, so nothing is touched while another fault is still open.
Then the treatment. A cleaning fluid goes in through the access port on that vehicle and opens out inside the filter, lifting the soot and ash a regeneration on its own will never move. A second pass is sometimes needed on severely blocked filters.
Then a regeneration, to burn off what the clean has lifted. If you are there, that is carried out as a monitored drive out of Llandow; if not, in place where the vehicle waits, with the running data verified once done.
Finally the check runs again — the change verified, the light cleared, anything still open noted. Both read-outs arrive with you by email, so the numbers are kept.
When a DPF clean is not the fix
Treatment fixes one thing: a filter blocked with soot and ash. It does no good for:
- sensors, pressure or temperature, showing a restriction that is not real
- an EGR valve held open
- AdBlue system faults
- a regeneration that hardly ever runs, because of glow plugs or injectors
- turbo failure, with oil entering the filter
Which is why the check happens first. When one of those turns out to be the fault, you find out about it up front rather than once the money has left altogether.
Two more worth noting. Having the filter gutted is not a fix — a vehicle without a serviceable DPF will fail its MOT and driving it is an offence. And cleaning is sometimes searched for as DPF renewal: nothing is swapped, your original filter is cleared in place and sent back into use.
What DPF cleaning costs across Llandow
A call-out charge holds whatever happens, and pays for the visit, the booking fee, the scan and the advice passed on. Cleaning itself opens from £299.
No flat rate would be truthful, so the price is settled over the phone once we have the vehicle and what the filter is likely to need. Where you are matters as much as what you run: Llandow itself, Llysworney close by, or farther out in the CF postcode area.
A clean that will not help is not cleaning you pay for, and the scan is what says so. You nonetheless pay that charge: someone travelled, did the check and offered you the advice.
A 30-day warranty includes aftercare on the job, and that includes an engineer heading back out to Llandow if the light returns inside the time.
Great service, very quick response. Excellent attention to detail and very clear explanation of the issues affecting my DPF. Highly recommended.
Polite prompt service and explained everything at each stage and other issues that cropped up during the clean out. Running very well and am very pleased with the service.
Great experience with DPF. We got an appointment next day and the customer service was great all the way through. Whilst I hope I don't have to use them again, I would recommend to anyone!
The vehicles we clean and the area we cover round Llandow
A single on-site service covers cars and estates, vans and light commercials, HGVs, construction and plant machinery and farm vehicles, and on every one the filter is cleaned in place rather than moved anywhere.
Llandow is hardly ever a special trip: engineers are along Heol-y-Nant nearly every week, and the same run picks up Llysworney, Colwinston and the villages out past Wick. Further out across The Vale of Glamorgan is even so worth ringing about — coverage runs UK-wide, and it is the schedule rather than the distance that settles between today and tomorrow.

Things Llandow drivers ask about DPF cleaning
- Will a long drive sort it?
- If you catch it in time, and the car is not in limp mode, sometimes. That calls for motorway speed for a long spell, rather than a brief trip to Co-op Food.
- Broadly how long does it take?
- That is typically around 2 hours, though a heavily loaded filter can need cleaning twice, which takes longer.
- The cost around Llandow — what is it?
- The call-out charge covers the visit, the scan and the advice; treatment itself begins from £299. Pricing is done by phone, since what you run and where you live both move the price.
- Is it essential for me to be there?
- No. The car needs space to stand for a couple of hours; you do not need to stand with it. Come along if you prefer, and the regeneration is done as a supervised drive.
- When can someone come to Llandow?
- You are looking at often same-day or next-day, though it depends what is now in the schedule. One phone call to 0303 330 1830 and you will know what the CF area has open.
- Does the filter come away from the motor?
- Not on the mobile service — it is treated where it sits. That job — a filter off, a filter back on — is not something we do.
- Suppose the light comes back?
- An engineer heads back out to Llandow — the 30-day warranty includes aftercare.
