Signs the car has been giving you
Symptoms have usually been mounting for a while before the light even appears. Belated news, in other words:
- pulling uphill, the power falls off
- revs that will not rise the way they used to
- fuel use going worse
- silently, the stop/start bows out
- smoke under acceleration, or a diesel smell inside
That is not evidence on its own. Alongside the light alongside them, the filter is a fair guess.
